Well, I finally got my first win last night. But considering that it was only the third race I entered in my car I'm pretty happy.

I didn't do so well in the feature though. I led the first few laps but then my handling went away and became way too loose. I also developed an over heating problem with only a few laps left which caused me to pull off. I'm going to install a fan switch in my car I do think because I've got a few weeks off until my next race.
I'd like to send a thank you out to ZX2Racer, Zxtwou2, iceracer, and, crazy34 (even tho I dont think hes active anymore). After looking at some old posts by you guys I was able to setup my car alot better. So THANKS!

Well, a complete list can be seen here (I drive in the Hornets division):

Basically though, nothing. The cars are supposed to be completely stock, including powertrain and suspension. I didn't stick to this though, and you cant because nobody else does. If I had, I wouldn't be competitive.
Ill tell you one thing though, setup is everything! if I hadn't of had the input from some of the people on this site there is no way I would've won.

Didn't really look like your competition was any competition.

Yeah, they split the field into 2 heats by points. The first heat is the cars that are lower in the standings and the second are the ones who are higher. I, obviously, was in the first race. I'll post the second heat or the feature later if you'd like. There are several cars in my division that are stupid fast. Off the line tho, I'm pretty sure I'm the quickest.
Currently in the points I'm sitting 9th out of 25 in the championship and I'm 2nd in the challenge points race. I'm next to positive that I've got 2nd rapped up in the challenge points race. I'm happy with how I and the car have done this year, seeing as I've missed 3 nights of racing.

Why do you stay in the outside lane all the time?

Why do you stay in the outside lane all the time?
Thats where my car would handle. If you noticed my car was quite loose even on the outside, if I were to go inside my car would become even more loose. At my track its really hard to get your car to handle well on the lower side. The high side is considered the fast lane, but you've gotta get your car setup to be able to run the low side in order to pass. The orange car who won the race is leading the points and has been racing this division for 5 years in a row or so. He knows this track really well and has his car hooked up really well. He also has more money in his engine then I do my entire car.
I've gradually been getting better at running the low side, finding a happy medium setup. Its just something that I've gotta get better at.

Your car seems gobs faster than the rest of them, you really need to get the handling under control haha.

Thanks... I haven't done nearly as well as you have this year. But I'm very happy with my performance. On Wednesday night I won my heat race and placed 4th in the feature. I changed some things with my setup tho that I liked, I changed around my air pressure to this: RF 40, LF 22, RR 45, LR 30. I also discretely placed some ballast in the area right in front of my LR tire, I'd say about 60 pounds. With these changes my car drove awesome.
I appreciate all the help on this site, but some stuff I've gotta learn on my own, seeing as most of you guys race on dirt. The setup differences between dirt and asphalt can be extreme. You all have helped me out considerably to getting to a good starting point tho.
In the feature I grabbed the lead in the first corner and held it for about half of the race. After the race the top two finishers, who also happen to be the top two in points, both commented to me on how fast my car was and both of them asked me the same question. "What tires are you running?" To this I responded junk tires. Both of them independently told me I was losing my time in the corners and said to invest in some good new tires. If I were to do this I could easily win a feature. If I race again next summer I shall heed their advice.
I've only got one more race for this year, and its not until September 18th. After that I'm not sure what I'll be doing. There are a couple of 4cyl enduro races after that, but I'm not sure I'm going to enter them. It's all kinda up in the air as of right now weather or not I'm going to sell my car. I'm on alert status to be deployed next summer so its really going to depend on when I'm leaving. if I am leaving April/May then I'll prolly sell my car, if its after that, lets say July/August, I'll prolly hang on to it and race it some next summer. I think my biggest problem is figuring out what I want to ask for it. I know about what I've got invested in it money wise, but as for labor? hundreds and hundreds of hours... And I know you never get out what you put into your car, but its really my pride and joy, something that I've done all the work on (except the cage) and am very proud of.
...meh sorry for that ramble... anywho, as soon as I get the videos from Wednesday night I'll post them, prolly in a new thread tho... that is if you guys want to see them...

I nabbed me another second place finish tonight. I had to fight the whole top 5. A couple was running me down to the bottom of the turns I got drilled by a Guy in a neon twice...the first time I about spun out. The second time he got me good caved in the rightt rear frame rail and spun us both out. They put us both to he back. I came from the back of the pack and finised the race passing from4th to 2nd 3 wide on the bottom last lap checker flag waving coming through turn four.
