I have a means of perhaps getting to market a limited number of rear sway bars for the BG chassis. My question is: What would you like to see? Would 15/16 (24 mm) with 3-way adjustments (via heim joints at the bar and bushings at the LCA) be too big??? 7/8 (22.3 mm) is pretty close to the ZXTuner bar--but I suspect we could do a 3-way vs. their 2-way??? 13/16? Other?
Throw some ideas out? Would you buy for a pricepoint around $200?

The Focus, having a different rear suspension uses different mounting points.
From personal experience with the 22mm ZXtuner/progress bar,of which I have tried both settings. The short/track setting seemed to bind things up and didn't handle to my liking. I run it on the long/street setting and it works very well. This is with Eibach springs, other springs may react differently.
In my opinion, the 24mm bar might be excessive, but then the long/soft setting might work. It all depends on the length of the lever arms.

I understand that the Focus is different; we settled on marketing 15/16" and 7/8" 3-way bars for it...both work well depending on the springs used. Stiff cars like the big bar, softer and stock cars like the small bar better.
I can have anything made. I am not implying that the bar pictured would be used on a ZX2/BG Mazda. The 'new' bar would be engineered to fit just like an OE bar, except that it would use heim joints at the bar/endink coupling--not bushings. The photos are to simply illustrate the quality of the piece.
Are all of the bases covered in BG land? I recall that there used to be a 25+mm bar made (Quickor)--I know of some Mazda and EGT guys using it. I could certainly replicate that piece.

for most people that have escorts cant beat the EGT 21mm rsb. good performance for about 30-50 dollas and easy to come by when you want one. im sure that your target would be those serious autocrossers that are looking for the absolute best in handling.

i get plenty of oversteer with my 19mm...i'd love to see what a 24mm bar could do for me with a set of stickier tires!

It sure is pretty!
But I 'm not sure a lot of guys will bite for $200.

That thing is huge man! My 21mm does me pretty well. Great for the street, and keeps the butt nice and level.

STS, I just wanted to point out the difference so that someone would not try to put a Focus bar on the ZX2.
The links are very similar to the ones on the ZXTuner/Progress 22mm bar.

My suggestion would be to market a 22 mm bar with three settings of stiffness, with the middle on would be intermediate to the two settings of the ZX2ner bar. the others two would be slightly stiffer and slightly softer.
I am assuming you have the test setup and expertise to measure torsional stiffness of the bar, including the effect of the length of moment arm length.
Combine this with two different stiffnesses of urethane bushings and you provide at least 6 different levels of tuning. This should be more than sufficient for anyone who knows how to tune a rear suspension setup. Others factors include rear spring stiffness, ride height and roll center, camber, toe-in and tire pressure.
