factory alarm

hey everyone ,i was wondering if the z ever came with a factory alarm or any security devices,and if so can i take it out of another z and put it into my car , its not becouse im cheap,its becouse im broke.thanx

I do have an alarm in my car. And it is connected to the factory remote. It only works when you lock the car from the remote. I dont know how hard it would be for you to remove an alarm system, and install it in anouther car though.

anyone with any info on this ,its becouse there is a z at the u pull it yard and i was thinking of taking out the alarm and putting it in my car

yes it is possible. i am not sure if all zs came with the harness for it bur the module is located behind the carpet on the right side of the trunk and i believe 3 10mm bolts hold it on. if your z has the wires ran it would be a 10 min job. install the module program a fob and you are done. the factory alarm isn't much of one but i guess its better than nothing. with that said i would not pay more than $30 for it. also you will have to have power windows for it to work as it also adds key less entry.

i looked in the trunk and there is a box on the right hand side that has the harness hooked up to it and i have power locks and windows,but is that the bod or is it something else. off topic but can someone tell he how would i be able to post videos of how to's or even pictures,that have hiresolution. if it isnt a disconvinience for you do you mind telling me more about the alarm

i am pretty sure if you have keyless entry you have the alarm....i think it went off if you locked the car with the fob but unlocked it with the button or if you open the hood while its liked via the fob...and when i say locked you hit lock twice to "arm" it

i tried all of that and no alarm,i looked in the hood and there is no hood pin,so that must meen that i dobnt have the alarm,i took the hood pin off of another z and pluged it to the harness in my hood,i checked the trunk and the little box says (keyless entry and antitheft i think,i checked the other side of my trunk and there is another box there,or do i have to replace the one in the trunk with one that has the same harness but is an alarm plus keyless

man i dont know whats wrong with it ,i recently put bothe power locks in becouse i only had the driver door and mannual windows,i then put the power windows becouse the harness was alredy there and i looked in the trunk and i do have the box that says keyless entry and anti theft but i dont know if there is a realay or something under the dash that i need ,i got the hood pin out of a z that had the alarm and hooked it up to the haqrness and nothing,sorry to bother you but do you know if im doin something wrong

Check to see if the anti theft box has a yellow w/purple stripe going to it.That would be pin 16 on the white harness.If you dont have it,you will need to run a wire from your fuse box to the trunk to have the anti theft to work.
