Friggin amazing for the price. I got mine for under 400 for all 4 plus studs, lifetime balance and rotation, and road hazard. I drove on I-25 yesterday, and sections were covered in black ice and the car didn't even flinch. I was doing speed limit (75 MPH). About 20 minutes after passing through that section of road, there was a 40 car pileup due to that ice. My only complaint is that between 35 and 50 they are loud. At highway speeds they are much quieter, about as loud as the exhaust.

Pros

Cheap
Tons of Ice Traction, when studded 8)

Cons

Loud at moderate speeds, quiets down at highway speeds.
slight reduction in gas mileage.

Photo is from another site, same tire.

Four dedicated snow tires make the ZX2 into an amazing winter car.
I don't like studs because of the noise. I prefer the snow/ice tire such as the Bridgestone Blizzak. There are others equal.
And they have nearly equal traction to studs.
Good buy, though.

Snow tires make any car awesome. I've handled a few winters with several blizzards in my Miata thanks to snow/ice tires. They make drifting around corners even more fun.
Any decent snow tires are better than all-season tires.

Studded tires are illegal in a lot of states because they can damage roads.

Nice thing about Colorado is that studs are perfectly legal 365 days of the year

i wish mich would allow studs we get 200+ inches and our roads are shit neway, studs arent gonna damage the roads anymore than the freezing and thawing, and poor construction neway

Actually, here in the Springs, it can get 100+ in the summer, did it 4 times this year. Even at the top of Pikes Peak, the snow is gone by mid-July, and Pikes' summit is 7200 feet higher than I am.

Went with Firestone Winterforce, noisey but damn good grip, first snows are failing now so we will see how they grip
