I recently picked up a pair of new Corbeau Forza buckets for the zx2 and mounted them to the factory sliders.
The seats have a completly different bolt pattern than the factory seats so i had to fabricate a couple of simple adapter plates.
The challenge is thus: the base of the Corbeau seat is about 4.5" narrower and 1" longer than the stock seat pattern. Also, the zx2 seats are uneven. the outside rail is about 1.25" shorter in height than the inside. The factory seat is uneven to compensate for this.
To mount the seats, i used two lengths of flat aluminum with 1.25" risers on the outside rail. the aluminum has zx2 and Corbeau holes and successfully adapted the seats to zx2 rails. see below for pics. It cost about $25 total for a few lengths of metal, spacers and bolts from the Home Depot. sure beats dropping $200+ for brand name sliders.
In the end, the Corbeaus sit about the same height as stock zx2 seats... which i dont really like. Previously, i had mx3 seats in the car which gave me ample head room (i'm about 6'6"). With the Corbeau's the top of my helmet hits the roof when sitting upright. I'm looking again to see if the new seat can be lowered between the stock rails but i'm not optimistic. I guess i could mount the driver's seat directly to the floor pan but i would lose the slide function. the lower seat cushions are removable and that lowers me by a little bit, this may have to be the solution for the track for now.
