Need some info on a turbo'ed Mazda FWD car

My sister's friend has a sweet ass older turbo'ed Mazda. I think its an MX3. I would like to get one. Which is a good year to get and what kind of problems would i be looking to get if i got one. I know I can get a deal on one through my dad's friend kind of like i got my ZX2.

I want to stay in the ford type cars because i don't like DSM's or anything like that. I think a Mazda would be cool. Plus by the sound of the car i seen tonight, im drooling to get one!

I want some of your guys knowledge before i join another forum and act like a total noob!

My girlfreiends first car was a 1990 Mazda MX6 Turbo fully loade. She loved that car so much she said she would strait swap her2001 Hyundai tiburon for it. Her mom made her get rid of it whene it hit 200000 miles, even thouh its motor was still running strong and had almost everthing under the hood replaced.

Well i put in a message to the guy to see what exactly he has and which year to suggest. So hopefully i can pick up one real cheap some where! This will be my car that i'll do all my work to. Screw ZX2's. They'll never be fast with out ALOT of money! lol

I know that the ZX2 is never gunna be fast with out a but load of money. After doing some spirted driving, i realized- after bolt ons.. Is it going to be worth it.

With getting this mazda, i'll have a nice place to start with being turbo'ed stock. Of course i'll build the engine better and then increase the boost. I just gotta figure out what car this guy had so i can start looking or talking to my guy if he see's any at the salvage yards..

if you want to stick with a ford the probe gt turbo share 90% of the same component than the mx-6

I found out that the car i want is a first gen MX-6 with the 2.2 turbo'd engine. I was told i could get one for $500!

you could also get the probe GT 89-92. same 2.2L turbo'ed engine. I just started a thread on this as well... a guy from Quebec just told me he used this engine in his S/R

yeah i was thinking about that. But IMO the Probe is a buttload heavier then the MX-6. (i might have pulled that outta my ass)
