Well?

More specifically I would like to know exactly how one would go about tuning for an ITB setup(no plenum), how it would effect driveability and reliability, and if adding a nitrous shot to the mix would be pushing it. Note: bottom end would be built as well as the head.

I am a MS newb. Enlighten me

lol, i have been pondering itb as well. ill let you know what i find out.

See fabbing up the ITBs is no problem. I can design a manifold no problem to mount the TBs easily and angled or out of the way of anything that could cause problems. I'm more concerned in the tuning ability to tune for the high rpm/high air flow/nitrous

whats there to fab? use svt mani and get itbs and right size couplers.

Ive seen ITBs ran with a combination of teeing all 4 runners together with 1/8" vacuum line for the MAP Sensor , and then using X-Tau for it's fuel calculations. The Idle would be interesting though, as you would have to use something like an idle stepper motor to push the throttle cam open a bit and control idle speed.

you can use map or you can pass on it and use a fixed setting. I just using map and Teeing the vac line or vac block together. You can run dual maps for nos and/or window switch. Doing a build like this will be super easy. You'll have it done in one day with tuning.

Will keep that in mind. I'm considering it for a senior project.

I was able to use my MS as a final project for both my Auto Shop and Electronics classes Senior year of HS. That was 8 years ago. MS has come a LOOOOONG way since then.

Never seen one with nitrous, i'm sure it's been done. But ITBs are totally doable.

Sorry I never answered this. I have access to a lot of things people don't. By fab, I meant design and have made. Bolt-on style. If I was ever to do this specifically I am NOT ALLOWED to use the svt mani and couplers. I need to design and have made. Part of my degree.

But likely this is totally out of the question as I like boost and am not willing to do both for the same letter grade and diploma. :-)

my ITB setup is missing just a MAP sensor and MS at this point. i have a ton of info on MS and i can show you how i did my ITBs if you like.

Sure, let's get as much info in this MS section as possible. That's what it was created for. Also any MS guru please contact inis or myself about becoming an addition to this section in my new mod layout.

i have a full 3 ring binder including all sorts of flow and density charts and MS setup information...i'll see if i can find the .pdf i printed it from. the best contact for this is DIYautotune.

We need to get it linked at the top of the forum. I already know of DIYautotune because of doing research for my senior project. But other's probably don't who have only seen option A or option B as far as tuning goes.

if you like...i can send you my ITBs to play around with for your project. i don't see myself finishing this project (getting MS built and tuned) in the next 6 months or anything. they are the smaller TBs typically used, since i autoX. they are from a GSX-R600 instead of the 1000. i guess one has 38mm, the other is 42 or something. they are mounted on an SVT manifold half and are already synchronized and plugged and the upper butterfly valves have been removed. i don't have the vacuum line manifold i made with me, but it's just brass barb fittings, t's and hoses.

all i ask if for a box tune (whatever you end up with on the project) to get started with on my MS when i do get it ready :)

I will not be on my senior project for at least a year to begin...so it's likely not the turn around your looking for.

As far as designing I'd really like to focus all my spare time on the VCT and get that wrapped up so I can get the people the parts. I already have another 5 parts drawn and ready to prototype but don't want to jump ahead.
