2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart Photos Released

The Paris show isn't until October, but Mitsubishi has already announced what it'll be showing the Frenchies this fall. Along with the Lancer Ralliart that was first unveiled in Detroit this past year, the Lancer Sportback and Sportback Ralliart will debut in production form. The car's final form hasn't strayed far from the concept version and it goes on sale in Europe this Fall. The press release says nothing of the five-door's destiny here in the States, but we hope that with the current trends leaning toward smart compact cars, Mitsubishi will have the foresight to bring us this cool hatch.

I recently read an article claiming that the new STi is more capable in modified form than an equally modified EVO.

The WRX wagons were pretty popular, that why Subaru opted for a Wagon version of the STI, because they thought many of the WRX Wagon buyers from previous models would move up to the STI if it had better versatility. Instead, they traded one market for another. Now they've got all the WRX Wagon buyers, but lost all the 05-07 STI buyers.

Essentially, Mitsubishi thinks it can steal Subaru buyers, I don't think it'll work.

Don't get me wrong, I love wagons, but just not this rendition of the EVO.

I like the Lancer station wagon that was out a couple years ago and didn't last too long alot better. It's a shame you could only get it with a slushbox..

I think it looks a LOT better than the 5dr STi... I'm still a subi fan though. So i'd pick the STi over this thing.

There ugly. I seen a new wagon STI the other day on the road and laughed. Probably the worst looking car ever. I thought subby had ugly cars before but wow it tops it. Now mits is getting ugly with too. Both cars fail. I don't see how people would buy it.
