Hotels, No-Tells, Tents and Motels with a Dash of Cabins

I will be posting various links in this thread with information about places to stay in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for the National Meet. Everyone's budget will be different so there will be a range to hopefully accomidate everyone. Choices will include the usual hotels,cabins, condo's or motels as well as camping outside if someone get a cabin or campin at one of the local campgrounds in the area. For the most part everyone should be able to put there head somewhere for the night. I'm sure many of these places will be scattered from each other but for the most part, they wouldn't be more than 20 minutes apart. Example would be, someone gets a cabin in Gatlinburg and someone get a room at the "Grand" in Pigeon Forge. The two are less than 20 minutes apart but still in the "heart of things and everyone else"........ :cjw:

Ain't no shame in sleeping in a vehicle.....saves money but your back kills you in the morning..

It would probably be easiest for the majority to stay in the same place and see about a group discount.

As far as the "group discount" is concerned, it could happen. If we can get enough people together, we can take over an entire floor of a hotel if we wanted to. Same with the cabins. Cabins are going to be around $125 and up a night but they are fully furnished minus groceries and your clothes.

I like the cabin idea but I know somenpeople have a "low" problem..

I really liked the cabin I was in a few years back. Keep in mind.."general" low can still go. The cabin we stayed in was definatly on the border of "scrape city" but Doug and I didn't have issues. We're both running Tokico's/Progess-Eibach on 205/50/16's. I know it'll vary pending on where you are as well. That's where other places have come up for the "Loooooow" people.

I have a few links posted in the first post. Various hotels and what not. I've stayed in most of them over the years and have been satisfied. Prices are going to vary, I tried locking down a few prices but most said when Tourist season starts the rates will change. Others said "Book Now" to lock in lower rates for that time peorid. Cabins and Condo's usually will need to have a deposit put down and some of the hotels may requrie a CC to "book" the room in advance. I'm sure there are penilties for cancelling reservations as well so please ask about this information UP FRONT BEFORE YOU BOOK.

As people make reservations, they can post up where they will be at if they choose to do so. I still haven't personally decided yet on if I'm staying up there or not, just depends on if the wife wants to go or not.

I used Hotels.com, and booked three nights at the Baymont Inn & Suites Pigeon Forge for a good price... I'm to low to get lucky on scraping....

Nice place. I think that's about 10min away from G-Burg.....can't remember which end of the strip that place is on. Cool.


Folks, you can use ORbit or Hotels.com or any other internet place like that to try to get the cheapest rates. Also, don't forget your AAA card or military card since discounts may also apply....

Smokey Mountains National Park may be able to accomodate you lol. Be cautious of the local bears tho.

Sweet. A shooting range.....eerrrr I mean, cool, a place with space for a central hang out. We'll get together and check things out and post up the findings and possible plans. Thanks Onefast...that'll sure help and you'll be a central part of the meet. Just make sure it's all right with everyone in the house hold....could have up to 50 or so cars at any time....
