yeah I know about the sticky thing... ZX2nr, ZX2 Fusion, ZX2 Esslinger (thread I'm gonna start right after this reply), ZX2 Specs and ZX2 Ford Press releases must be stickied. But when I asked CJW he told me this whole section is not gonna have any sticky since it's all "sticky important" stuff.

I really love the zx2nr front and sides the rear and spoiler are iffy for me however it still looks better than most focus' that ford made.

yeah it's true, I remember seeing these (not all of them though) somewhere and I probably saved them but didnt add them to my website... if you have higher res could you send them over to me?

also, I made a thread on the Fusion and Esslinger... go check and see if I'm missing pics of any of both... I'm pretty sure I have every pic of the fusion though... and the Esslinger I need to scan my magazine and THEN I will probably have all of the pics too.

The difference between the zx2nr bumper and the 03 is the fact that the 03 has the area for the fog lights. now I know what must be done ;)

I've spoken to a company that is interested in creating a body kit close to the ZX2nr concept. They want at least 10 orders before they'll start it, after that it would take about 9 months to produce. It should be a 10 piece kit. The cost of the kit would be around $1000.00. The 3 piece spoiler is also being considered but we don't know approx. cost yet.Get back to me if your interested so we can get this kit produced.

Who are the "contacts"?? Do they have a company name?? Where's the pics (yes you can post pics) of the ZX2, Civic, S2000 or the Neon that your company has worked on for "shows"?? You say your in PA....we have tons of members including the site owner who live in PA. So what's the address of the company you stated above where all this work has been done to the above mentioned cars?? There are people close by that can verify your shop you say you represent/work at and the work done by them. I'm trying to be nice and give him a chance. More than likley he will come back with a hatefull response and won't be able to confirm any of the questions ask of him or devulge any further info.

I for one would love for this to happen but I don't expect anything else to come about. This guy will think we're all assholes and he won't want to do anything for the community. When in retrospect, if he acts like a buisness guy and provides the information requested, then he would be surprised at the actual response he would get, many of us begging him to get this project rolling........:judge:

To explain a little about why zx2loon is aprehensive, I was one of the people who had ordered part of a kit from A**** Design Solutions (I won't give the full name of the company, everyone who has been on this forum more than a year knows who I'm talking about). They had started production of a kit for the ZX2 and it turned out that they were forced to close before delivering on everything that had been paid for, and did not refund any of the money that had been paid to them for the product they weren't able to ship. I do in fact have part of the order I paid them for on my car.

Since you have not posted before saying "I know a company that will produce this" (wich is how the other company started out with us) We (TeamZX2) are a bit cautious - Once bitten twice shy!

Provide some information that can be verified by our members (ie. the name of the shop you work at) and the hesitation will likely disapear.

Hey guys & gals, sorry but I wasn't around yesterday, thanks for some of the good replies from some of you. It really sounds like some of you all got realy burnt before in the past, and I'm sorry to hear that. Like I said before, the better the response from all of you, the more confident the manufacturer will feel, that this concept will be in there best interest. Give a little bit and I'll try to figure out how to post some pics. And to answer the most important question, the reason didn't give out the manufacters name is that they didn't want to be bombarded by everyone calling them with questions. I'm just the guy stuck in the middle trying to get info if this concept kit is a good idea. When the concept kit goes into full production, you will be able to order the kit strickly from them. Then I won't be stuck in the middle. When they do their concept on our ZX2, I'll post some pics to you all, that way you don't think I'm BSing any one! If you guys have any questions before Wed. e-mail me directly so I can try to get some answers. This is going to be a fiberglass kit. I don't think I mentioned that before. Hope to get some more interest from all of ya. Thanks again.

Ford couldnt keep the Protege/Escort based ZX2 around after 2003, it was down to one car and any new compact cars had to be from Focus platform in early 2000's to justify tooling and materials costs.

Hello everyone. I wish some of you would stop giving me so much crap. Here I'm trying to help, and still some of you think I'm an a..hole. Well stop. I'm trying to provide a service.

I talked to the design studio, which is Krazy Kustomz Inc.. They are based out of Altoona Pa., but their design studio is in Sacramento Ca. So what they need is a car (not mine) from that area that is a 2003 ZX2 that they would need for 4-6 weeks. After that point, the molds will be shipped over seas to be put in production. If you have that donor car, please contact me immediatly by e-mail, so we can get this thing moving. and the name of my company is Street Customs Inc.,but remember I am not the manufacturer or the seller of this kit, I'm only the guy whose trying to help because I thought it might be a good idea. They have told me that the kit would be sold under KKO Duraflex line.

why an 03 zx2? in order to make it feasible to the community it would need to be based off of the 98-02 front end.. hence a replacement frt bumper assy .. although EASIER on 03s the frt bumper for it is so hard to get and expensive. if it was ONLY an add on to the 03 frt it would have a VERY limited appeal.. as most would not be able to use it.. jsut my input..

The reason for them using the 2003, is because they want to incorporate the upper grill and turn signal lamp assy, to make it based off of the ZX2nr concept. This would be a full front bumper replacement piece that would fit all years of the ZX2, so nothing would have to be changed, like the reinforcement bar or core support.
Than all we have to do is buy the marker lamp assy. from Ford. And that includes all the nessesary pieces. Part # 354Z13368 and 354Z13369. Like I said it includes housing,bulb & socket w/pigtail.

That is for a 4 door 3rd gen Escort (97-02). Nodnarb or whatever ordered one back like 2 years ago and found out the hard way and they wouldnt refund so he cut it up and molded it to his stock hood.

wasnt complaining...just trying to clarify that IF it was to be made as an ADD ON to an 03 bumper .. it wouldnt be usable to as many as if it was a full replacement bumper ..and if it WAS to be a full bumper.. then the donor car shouldnt matter if it was a 03 or a 98-02 .. since it would be used JUST for the fit up.. since he's hoping to use the 03 turns and grill .. that makes a lil more sense .. even so.. it would PROBOBLY be easier to find ANY zx2 , make the frt.. and then just find a 03 grill insert.. just that its gonna be hard to find an 03, and even HARDER to find somone IN california NEAR the shop whos willing to have there car sit for who knows HOWLONG while it gets mocked up.... would be a LOT easier to find a zx2 if it didnt HAVE to be an 03 .. only advantage I see to using an 03 for the kit is the frt is SIMILAR.. but NOT the same.. a very important detail to remember.. but .. would LOVE to see this come to fruition.. I for one would be all over it.. well like he stated he said you would have to order the grill and turn signals from ford to make it look like the 03.The grill on the nr and 03 are the same size just the 03 have the turn signals in it.

Buy the way, do you guys think we shoul incorp. the 97-02 fog lamps or try to match more closlely to the ZX2nr kit and use the 03 set up? This is one thing we (me & KKO) did't talk about. I like the idea of a limited production, but what would happen if some thing bad would ever happen to one of us, becuse if its a limited run they destoy the molds! Not a good thing. I believe the best route for you would be:

Build off a '98-'02 if you can't get a 2003. This is because I'm sure you (or the design company) can easily find a rolling chassis and I bet there could even be a person who would donate one for the project to get done. Maybe give that person a free or discounted kit for the car donation.

2003 bumpers are extremely tough to find, so people do not give them up easily. Just using the turn signal/grille assembly will be a lot cheaper and easier. The bumpers from a 2003 fit all years, so the kit can be built/designed on any year car and will fit all years. Most people have '98-'02 Zs on here, so using the fog lights from those years will benefit the majority of the people.

I also say, no limited run, so they will not become unavailable. Sure people want to be unique, but I'm sure the price of the kit will provide enough of an exclusivity factor so we don't see them on every corner.

Great project. I won't be buying one myself, I have some other priorities in life, but I'd love to see these cars on the road. :)

You should probably contact CJW, also lives in your area and the owner of this website. If he trusts you, it will go a long way in moving this project ahead for everyone. Also, perhaps he could be involved in the process...he knows everything there is to know about ZX2s.

Ford couldnt keep the Protege/Escort based ZX2 around after 2003, it was down to one car and any new compact cars had to be from Focus platform in early 2000's to justify tooling and materials costs.

What? How was it less costly to re-tool and build off a different platform from the Escort? The car is so cheap to build it is almost free.

As for foglights and turn signals, using the 98-02 would be the best way to go as 03's are specific and not always available. I can also provide a set of 98-02 foglights and mounting brackets for fitment.

Most dignified, flowing, gorgeous and well done version of a ZX2 that i have EVER seen done.

Unfortunately, however, every person who has sought out to re-create it has ended up giving up and not doing so. Lots of talk... no one who has followed through :( If I ever see the project completed and these body kits available, I will for sure fork out the dough for it in a heart beat.

I love this concept version. The '03 style bumper on its own seems a bit strange with the flow of the rest of the car. But those fender flares go along with it amazingly. I would be potentially interested in a kit replica of this concept if it existed and were legit.
