I'm looking at fabing up a custom front lip for my Soarer from Carbon Fibre. My current version is made from 1/8"thick HDPE sheet.

There are two of these. I cut and drilled them flat and then being HDPE I contoured them to fit the existing profile.

Is there a Carbon Fibre sheet flexible enough to do this? If not can you recommend a way of acheiving this profile?
And I'm trying to do this on the cheap side too. The HDPE ones look good enough for me but I'd like to trick it up a little more.
Thanks.

"On the cheap" and "carbon fiber" don't typically mix well. Regardless .....
Once the two part epoxy used in typically available pre-made carbon fiber sheets hardens you can't do anything to re-shape it as much as you need without destroying it.
Get fabric and epoxy and use your current pieces as a template. They'll come out exact this way.
Be sure you use a mask when you drill the new holes!
hes right. you wont be able to get carbon sheet to work. you need to lay up your own.
most pre-made carbon sheets are fiberglass with a layer of carbon for looks. you might be able to get it to flex with out delaminating, but it will be preloded and eventually it will fail. more than likely the fasteners will pull through the sheet.
may advice would be to use the material you have. and fab a mold from it, then lay in a a few layers of carbon and then several layers of glass.

Carbon sheet will work... it will just have a "memory" and want to go back straight. You're best bet is having somebody make them off the ones you made. If the material is smooth enough, wax the backside of yours and build off it and once fully cured, you can pop off. Building off the backside will give you a smooth surface (or whatever the surface of the material you used) and should look good. It will make it slightly smaller and less of a radius but if you dont use a ton of resin, you should be able to get enough flew to get it to mount right.
