I did search, but I typed in "knocker" and didn't find anything.
Thanks, I really appreciate it =] So, just remove it and that's it?

It's kind of a pain to get to, but it's pretty worth it. The car won't pull timing in the midrange, but it won't change your top end. After 6K, the computer ignores it anways.

I meant to ask you guys...is there anything else that can be mistaken for the knock sensor? I pulled mine off last week when I changed the oil; it was just a rubber-capped, 90-degree female connector on what felt like a threaded bolt sticking out of the block just above and to the side of the oil filter. Couldn't see what color it was. I didn't notice much more "smoothness" in acceleration; at least, not more than could be attributed to the fresh oil. Nothing has gone wrong so far...so I assume I pulled the right thing, but the fact that I don't notice even a slight difference makes me wonder.

This plug is green, and its just a simple sensor. I believe the there is a plug near it, that can be fatal if pulled. Might want to make sure that the one you pulled was indeed green.

OK guys, haha, have your fun with the newb...but I'm going to make damn sure that plug is green as soon as I get to my car. Seriously though, what other plug is there in that area that can be "fatal?"

I didn't see any other plugs down there, so I don't know what they are talking about. The sensor is kind of hard to get off though. I had to use a screw driver to try and get the clip over the little nub. The clip broke, so I just took it off.

The only other sensor I'm aware of back there is one to the left of the frame of that pic, I'm not sure what it does though

does anyone have a pic of the knocker sensor? If u have a s/r ecu will it do anything?or is the only other way to turn it off with a sct?

The picture above you. Green connector.

has anyone traced the wire to see where it goes. it would be a lot easier to just cut the wire somewhere else and add a switch than to have pull the sensor off. or will it throw off the sensor and ecu if the wire is cut?

If you perform this mod you simply take the connector off the sensor itself and leave the sensor screwed in to the block (it's the connector that is green ..... and no others in the area LOL).

If you were to cut the wires you would achieve the same effect as pulling the connector - same thing, no difference, no harm to anything.

the wire itself isn't long either, it's on the engine harness which is pretty small

I just did this mod just now.. Just unplugged and zip tied the connector to the fuel rail. I have seen some nice differences.. Not as groggy starting out just seems to run better all around! I am satisfied with this simple mod
