Svt Zx2

I was looking through the KB (ZX2 Infos) and I didn't find any topic on the ZX2 SVT. (hint, hint... mod could you plz move this topic to KB\ZX2 Infos)

Those are the 2 known photos of this prototype.

All we know about it is speculation. If anyone would have a photo or information on this SVT ZX2, please pm me so I can update the thread (cuz topics in the KB are locked to replies.)

Pretty much except for the GT500. That front looks an awful lot like the 03. Wow Ford actually use something off their ZX2 prototypes!

The wheels look like the 03 wheels too- except they're 16s there and were 15s on the actual car. That looks like a ZX2 with that Erebuni or whatever weird happy fish body kit. I'm glad it didn't make it to production- it seems like it would have been like the non-supercharged or turbocharged Cobalt SS- all show and no go.

an SVT version would've been even cooler than the s/r. Especially if they came with 170 hp like the SVT fucus did. Those rims are really nice looking. Too bad Ford was trying to tell us that we, the buying public, wanted a SUV (big truck) or focus during that time.

I think the spy shot was in motor trend (I may have that issue in a box somewhere).

It was boosted, stock engine, 8 psi, 230 crank HP. Way too fast for an Escort (for Fords' liking that is) so it never made it. No one even knows what happend to the one built.

i had an svt focus but imo the zx2 n/a or otherwise would be a better car its lighter, not a hatchback, so it would have been even more popular and if ford would have come out with the turbo one it would have had the most horsepower under $21K (the selling point of an dodge srt4 neon) way before the dodge srt line even came out. but like pinkshinyalan said it long past the expiration for this car to come out

Ford does have a warehouse of stored prototypes on strong shelves stacked on top of each other, kind-of like going to the lumber section at Menards or Home Depot. I saw it on the discovery channel a few years ago. They are never for sale and the only people that can get them go to Museums.
