So I installed my black box this afternoon. After I clean up, I fire the car up, put in my Joe Satriani CD and hit the road for a test/joy ride.

I roll up to a traffic light near my ex's house, and lo and behold, who would pull up next to on this 4 lane highway but my ex's boyfriend in his Dakota Sport with a horrible look of self-satisfaction on his face. he looks over and notices me. Sure enough, he starts to rev his engine at me.Aside from the fact that I have wanted to kick his ass ever since I met him 2.5 years ago, I wanted to see what my car could do after the addition of the box.

So I do what little reving I can my my little ATX and and put it in L. Light turns green and I take it just shy of all out, which is what I was told by my bro. I don't take any time to look at him, I just keep my eyes on the road and put it in D when I got into 2nd a bit.

By the time I look back he is a sever car lengths behind me. His truck is MTX, so I don't know if the Dakota just sucks balls or if he just can't drive...

But either that made me feel better about myself....

Now all I need to do is figure out is who the hell I am, and get into law school and I'll be all set...

I'm lame..

Good kill on an 18 second truck.

SCT is a far better mod to buy than that black box is.

IIRC, dynos showed the black box richened the a/f curve. Leaning the a/f out is what makes power.

So...>_>

you are saying this black box is making less power?

It's possible.

Well its a Dodge, so that was his first problem.

Truck owners always think their v8 is going to win, but they are typically pretty stupid and never understand their gearing is meant for work use, not racing.

Its not the fact that they have short gearing take off gearing and long gears from 3-5th. Its the fact that a dakotas most power full engine only makes like 235hp and they are 4200+lb trucks. Most of them don't even have the v8 most have the v6.

if you really want to go that route, do the pots mod for like 5-10 bucks.

Soo true. I found that out with my dad's F-150. Its a 96' FX off road edition (with enough chrome to make a caddy blush). It has a 275 HP 5.0 liter engine, with a top speed of around 80. Yes it could go faster, but you'd run out of gas trying. My dad's Cobra II (1978) on the other hand also has a 5.0 liter engine, and the car is a little bigger than my escort (obviously heavier due to the lack of plastic). The Cobra is second only to our 2007 Shelby GT (for what we own).

What is that (SCT) and what is the pots mod? Also, where do I get these and how much are they?
