Seriously. I am 18. My parents are seperated. I just told her I was probably going to move in with my dad while I go to college. It is four miles away. She just got all mad at me and was saying "Well fine, I am going to sell the house then." and all of that kind of crap, trying to make me stay. She knows I want the house so I am assuming that is why she said it.

I want to live with my dad because I have lived in this same house for 18 years. I have lived with her, for 18 years. I am getting sick of living here and just want something different. My dad also told me he would pay for my college since he wouldn't have to pay as much in child support and would have the money. I figured, hey, what the hell why not. I'll be four miles away, it won't be any different.

She's getting mad at me because she will be losing $92.50 a week in child support. What the fuck mom, is that all I am? A tax exemption and a child support check.

That shit just pisses me off. I can't believe it. I can't believe that she has a problem with me living with my dad, with no other reason than the money. She'd still see me every day. She just wouldn't have to buy as many groceries.

I hate being in the middle of a fucking money war between my parents.

Fuck child support and the bullshit it causes.

I am just fucking sick of it! I don't see any of that money and my sister doesn't see her half. My mother is driving around a brand new equinox though. My dad is letting me borrow 70 bucks so I can go to cyberman's. No questions asked. My mother wouldn't have even considered it.

Eric man, I'd leave. First i'd have a little heart to heart with her, and tell her how you feel, and that how she is acting is actually pushing you away. Maybe she will change, maybe not.

I've been through the same thing that your going through, only thing different is that it was with my step dad, who isn't obligated to pay child support. But still my mom acted all shitty cause I wanted to live with him, and it was just one town over.

Your 18, and its time for you to live how you choose to live, and if you have options, then I'd take up the one that you feel would be more benefical for you, not anyone else.

Idk. I plan on moving in with my dad. It just makes me so mad that my mom is being like this. I wouldn't mind spending a lot more time with him, I mean, I grew up seeing him Wednesdays and every other weekend. I'd like to see him more. He's never missed a day.

Me and my dad just have things in common. We love cars, motorcycles, things like that. Every time I mention any of that to my mom she gets annoyed with me. My dad also used to be a machinist.. I figure, if I am going to school for it he will be able to help me with a lot of things.

I also think he just deserves it. For being there my entire life. For paying child support for 18 years, for not getting any tax exemptions for us, for taking us out every weekend anyways, for taking road trips to florida for vacations, for everything he has ever done.

My mother hasn't done nearly as much for me.. She's never helped me fix anything, never bought the parts I needed to fix my car, never took me and my sister anywhere. I look around my room here in my mothers house.. I see three guitars my dad bought, two I bought, none my mother bought. A game system bought for my brother by my mom, a computer bought for my family by my mom, a stereo my dad bought before my parents seperated, my laptop that I bought, speakers my dad bought me to build a custom guitar amp..

Take all of that away and I have a hand me down TV, hand me down dressers, and thats it..

I'm not saying I just want things. I just am trying to understand why I should stay with my mother when the guy who didn't get a break has done more for me than the one getting all of the breaks. I don't even want anything from him. I just want to live some where else.

To get away from her crap, to give my dad a break, to be some where a little fresher. :confused:

Are our mothers related? My mom just stopped getting child support for my brother. She is mad because she didn't know what was going on. Also, she didn't pay for anything. My dad would send her the money, and then pay for the repairs to my brother's car, for his lunch, clothes, and everything else. He kept track of it all and went and told whoever about it. Turns out that counts towards the child support. My mom now owes him about 4,200. She is mad and is taking it out on us.

Just don't sweat it. I know where you are coming from so I can at least sympathize a little. My mother and I have always had a stressed relationship. Some people are just like that though.
