Kind of pisses in my charcoal that Airbus, a French (or any foreign) company, can even be considered for a US military contract for something along the magnitude of tanker airplanes.

Man the Air Force has had some really bad press lately. All I have to say is, my shop has nothing to do with any of it! We just go to work in our little corner of the Air Force.

Yeah we don't look too great lately. Hopefully the new CSAF and SECAF will straighten things out. I don't care about the new tanker. I work on the current one (KC-135).

They'll do a lot of the work on it in my hometown (Mobile, AL). I kinda hope Boeing gets it since it will help out Wichita.

the coast guard has sworn off Sikorsky ever since we had to re-power the HH-65 Dolphins with more powerful American engines. i don't see why the US gov't would go with a lower bidder if that bidder was French, as opposed to supporting the American economy which fuels it's supply of money for the equipment in the first place. we should keep as much of our military supplies in house as possible. Tanks from Caterpillar, planes from Boeing, etc.

of course all american military equipment should be made in this country, but when was the last time anyone did what they were supposed to?
