Anybody seen any kits, modify their fenders or weld on flares from other cars to allow W-I-D-E tires and wheels?
I'm thinking about thishttp://www.914club.com/bbs2/style_emoticons/default/idea.gif
I'd like to see some pictures.

the only flares i've ever seen on here were purely cosmetic...flares molded onto the fenders, and the original fenderwell lip still in there. some might have carved it out...but i don't remember ever seeing it done.

CarbonTC says he is going to make a widebody kit. I never heard of anyone else doing it, just rolling the fenders.

I've done a whole wide body on the Z, but I put on regular 17" rims, with 2" spacers, not wide rims, but it could've taken wider rims.

You should ask some people on Grassrootsmotorsports.com, they have answers for everything.

If you don't care about looks, get some truck fender flares and mold them on. :D
They DO make them for a PT Cruiser, that would be closer to the right size.
Or go crazy and get Bushwhackers.

You could also have YellowZX2SR makes you some (or you could do it yourself) using foam and fiberglass.

Trekkor, remember that our rear struts are very susceptible to rub on wide wheels with not enough offset. Wheel spacers or good wheels in a size like 15x8 with -35 offset in the rear would probably be enough.

You have to also realise that Porsche pictured there already has pretty huge fender flares that might have only been extended 3-5 inches. It's also RWD, so it requires those types of meats to control that power it probably has (911's are pretty wild handling cars).
A FWD car has limits the size tire it can run, that is, it still needs to turn. In our car, you could probably only run a 225/50/15 before the tire would rub on every corner, no matter what sized fender flare or offset you had.

I saw on a forum once that someone made fender flares using POOL NOODLES sliced in half! :D
Might have been on our site before the crash.
I wouldn't recommend that way.

On the auction, the guy states "This car is known for being the only ZX2 with a wide body kit. " lol. There's about 2 others with full wide bodys, like mine, and the other was from orlando.

I'll have custom 8" rims made with something like a 1-2" backspace.
