ok given I know ALOT of these cars. I would say whats the price first. To me, it looks like a 16g turbo with a few add ons. Thats one hella bov recirc line. ALL this can and NEEDS to be cleaned up lol. How many miles on it?

Yes awd does make the big difference. But dont pay out the ass for it, these cars are dime a dozen. I wouldnt pay more then 2k tops for this, seeing its current condition. Lots of potential, but again not very reliable.

Mine broke every other week and still couldnt take my zx2 from a roll. And that was with small mods and a gutted interior. Off the line and in snowy parking lots it was a blast but otherwise it was a major fail.

Don't you think there is a reason the dude is taking a god damn dirtbike and a few hundred bucks for it. Sounds like a great investment.

So the engine looks clean. He has some aftermarket parts on it.

Who is to say he didn't beat the piss out of it? I would just be careful. They are peppy cars, and people drive them hard.

Oh man your entering a nightmare thats all i can say. They are fast for about a week and then they go down hill. I have messed around with a lot of these cars and not for a good reason either. They all had something major going and were breaking down all the time.

Looks pretty beat up but before I would buy it...do a compression test to see what your dealing with.

When you do buy it...replace everything maintenance related. Timing belt and balance belt mainly. They are interference engine and snapping either is failure.

I bought my 90 1G for $400 but put about $600 into it in maintenance and all new brakes and whatnot on it so I could avoid anything happening. Mine isnt turbo but it is the 4G63.

Mine is a 90. They had the popup lights in 90 and 91. Then they came them the external lights like the one you're looking at.

It runs good for being 18 years old. Faster then my Auto Z was (DSM=auto). Plus I like the better/cheaper aftermarket they have compared to the ZX2. I wouldnt buy it though w/o any kind of mechanical knowledge. I've yet to know an owner of one who couldn't work on a car.

you guys all talk down dsm's, well let me tell you something. God I hate getting into it with people who HEAR shit. Dsms are some powerful beast with lots of products available for them. You hear how unreliable they are and all this BS, only cuz young kids beat on them, throw large 20g or gt35r turbos on them WITHOUT a damn tune. Kids who think they can rag at high psi launching off their clutch at 6k rpms. what do you think is going to happen. Idiots gave these cars a bad reputation. Given a dsm in the right hands, they can last you, you can boost the shit out of them, proformance parts are not all that steep, ONLY cuz so many marketers out there.

back when I was single, going to college 17 credit hours semester and working 3 jobs, my 95 tsi had so much shit done to it, and my tune allowed me to run daily 24 psi, but I also had the 2.3 stroker kit with oversized valves.

Jason I dont think you wil paint this then sell it, so dont play. It would be a fun car to pick up for a trade of a silly dirtbike and a little cash. I agree with everyone else, replace the belt and a few oil things. That water pump is also the dsm weeklink.

I owned a 93 laser RS turbo that was complete utter not taken care of before I bought it. I couldnt even restore it without replacing all new motor, ect. I would still say buy it IF IT SOUNDS GOOD AND RUNS NICE.

I'm not saying im a god to these cars, just owned 7 of them. Some turbo, some not. I dont feel like I wasted my money one bit, just young and sold for stupid prices.

Agreed. Yea forgot to mention the water pump. Most people just replace that when they do the timing belt so if the pump does go you don't have to pull the timing belt again.

Go hit DSMtalk.com and check out this FAQ http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/

Anything you could ever want to know about them is in there.

I had a DSM and really was indifferent with it...the trans blew and it had a hole in the trans you could fist....the clutch was brand new, it just WENT...it was a nice little car, but hell, I only paid 150 bucks for it...guy didn't know what was wrong and it was a sensor.

yeah i no not to boost it that high without building the engine first...
im going to do all the mantinence to it and be gental...LOL.. for a couple weeks and if the car is holding up fine i will keep it and prob begin to make it faster. but if it funs like shit witch i dont think it dose becaulse i seen a vid of it running.... so i think i should be fine on the deal..... and + i dont have to go get the car he is bringging it to me....
