ok so a update for those who have not seen my water pump thread. it is being pushed back two months. i am going to do a full exhaust. this will consist of a obx type long tube header, trubendz strait tubing, a tc sportline muffler (thanks to evilescort). i will have no cat flexpipe or resonator. we will have to wait to see how it sounds. this will all be ordered around the 15 of this month. as far as the water pump goes fell free to go to this thread to help discuss the possibilities. the more technical info to make you point the better. (as i am learning as i go and good info is hard to come by) http://www.teamzx2.com/showthread.php?t=3758

ok so sunday i will have my head in. for those who have not read any of this thread i have a mild PnPed focus head going in. it has stage three comp cams. the second focus head i use will be sent to johnp. it will be receiving oversized valves and new hardware. i also have a 22mm rear sway bar and a intake manifold on the way. as soon as i pay and get shipping quotes from larka. the sway bar will go in quickly the manifold i have special plans for. :wiz: i have lots on my plate but i would like some feedback from everyone. i will have pics up sunday night.

well crap it seems i jumped the gun a bit on the head. i am still missing some odds and ends. as soon as i get that sorted out i will post it up. but on to the intake manifold i have not paid larka for it yet (waiting for money to hit paypal.) but i do have a few other intake manifolds here that where donated to me for this project. one is from a 1.9 sohc escort. the other is from a 2.0 spi escort. i am making a custom intake for my car, this will be a one off. but there will be a lot of pics and specs. that way you can do it yourself at you're own pace. i would really like some feed back from you all on what i am doing. i need all the help i can get on this one. one of my questions is there anyone that makes a intake plate like jaysracings exhaust plate.

damn, that yellow vc paint job was awful. Did you paint the blue with the oil cap off or on?

ravensguildassasin

on then after it set most of the way i opened it. to break the paint. but i did not prep it right so the yellows showing. i have a focus valve cover to go with the head as soon as i finish the head out.

ok so here is where i stand with the custom intake manifold.
started with this i do believe it is from a 1.8liter escort.
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a232/raven_vannato/PIC-0068.jpg
now the first thought was to port it to match then make an adapter plate.

so a big update. first i got my s/r cluster from fordboy. scraped all the stock green paint off the back. put in blue leds from superbrightleds.com.it looks great. then i put in the focus head and comp cams. i dialed in the cams then checked and rechecked them. swapped all the parts form my stock head over. then i installed the head. put it in time. wrong the first time i might add. put them in time right checked and rechecked. burned in the cams at 3200 RPM for 30 minuets. re changed the oil and topped off the radiator. all in all it took me eight hours to get it all done. let bake for a week. tried it out last night and it was a hell of a lot faster. now for the bad on the way back it keep dieing. pop the hood when i get home and see coolant everywhere. after looking and getting pissed off i went to bed. got up this morning topped off the fluid. then i took her for a drive and found the leak. bad radiator cap... other then that she is running great. i will get all the pics up as soon as i can get my computer to sync with my phone again.
