This is what improper machining can do to a clutch friction surface.

You can see the uneven wear. Since the clutch only has about 30,000 miles, I think it would break in again if installed on a good flywheel. But, I have a stage 3 so I'm just gonna put that back in.

It isn't too clear in the picture but it is toasted. It is easy to see it on the bottom of the picture. The whole thing looks this way.

It really doesn't look that bad. It has a couple spots but otherwise looks okay.

Anyone want to buy a slightly toasted Spec stage 2 for $60 shipped?

All of this was caused by the machine shop using the cup spec from a Focus Zetec because he couldn't find the Escort spec. Instead of calling me, he just went ahead and cut it. Asshole.

I already have a new Spec stage 3 I'm putting in. I figured I would just sell this stage 2 really cheap.
