Question about painting wheels

Hey all. I'm thinking about painting my wheels soon, but I need to know the best way to get the wheel weights off. Would pliers work, or is there some type of special tool needed? Also how would I put them back on when I'm done?

If you're going to put them right back on, just paint over them. You probably will never run without them.

Don't paint over them, Your wheels will never take the same weight in the same spot. Meaning when you change your tires they will add NEW weights in a different location, it may be very close but never the same. Also if you get your tires balanced and rotated they pull of the old wieghts and put on new ones.
In the end the paint will probably end up chipping of where ever they put new weight unless you have them use tape weight for the outside of the wheel, and hammer weights for the inside.
