I'm taking my SR to VT in July to run a hillclimb. 2.7 mile nicely paved road.

I have only a film camera. I haven't learned how to post pictures. I would need somebody to take my picture.

The class I have to run has some pretty potent competition. This is my first hillclimb in many years, so we will have to see. As always, I will have fun.

A report on my hillclimb weekend. It is a two day deal. Practice on Sat. Timed runs on Sun. First the road,as advertised, is not nicely paved. It is breaking up in spots and at one point had been dug up for a drainage pipe and not repaved, 24" dirt. Run off area at the top very bumpy. Very tough on suspension. Enough of the gripes.
Everyone there was very friendly and laid back. All kinds of cars. There were three of what looked like retired pavemant modifieds. Very fast.
On Sat. we all took a familiarization run and then first practice run. With app. 30 turns it is important to try to memorize the road. The corners are all marked to help. I did lot of shifting. Standind start, first to redline, second again, third, back to second for tight corners, back to third and so on. very busy. There is one fairly straight section that is flat out. Got into fourth gear briefly, about 90 mph, then down shift for the next corner and so on to the top. Usually they have four runs, after three there was a down pour.
Sunday, cloudy with threat of rain. Got two timed runs and then it started raining.
All in all it was a fun weekend. I really needed more practice and found what is need to change on my setup.
The run back down the hill was almost as much fun. Need good brakes.

I wish i could get into some kind of racing like this. I was born to drive and ready to race. Ha. But i can't imagine running my car and then braking it.

so race autoX like i do. if you slide out and hit a traffic cone...no damage done. i drive the car to and from the track almost 3 hours away...everything i've ever broken was usually on the trip up or down from the track...not on the track.

I didn't break anything. In fact all of the track days, autox's, ice racing I havent broken anything in seven years. Wore out tires and brakes. that's it.

Correction, I broke the petcock on the radiator when I ran over a cone.
