junk yard injectors

every one tells me i can get bigger injectors from a junk yard what car do i get them off and do they fit directly overalso is this the same car i can get a maf from

Yes you can get them from a junk yard, but why would you. You have no idea what your getting your self into if you get them from a junk yard. Personally, buy them new. If your building your car to need bigger injectors, why risk the engine on junkyard injectors. This isn't a window motor, it's part of the life of your car. If the injectors suck, your engine sucks and you suck for putting in junkyard injectors. :beer:

Well just because it came from the junk yard, does'nt mean there junk.

But, the chances of finding large enough injectors to make it worth while is slim. The only car's with large OEM injectors (keep in mind you want high impedance) are factory boosted car's, and there usally well picked over.

Just buy new.

If your going to use junkyard injectors , atleast take them to a performance shop and get them tested.


RX7's came with HUGE injectors...even on the n/a's

will the rx 7 injectors fit... i think i heard someone say mustang injectors would fit. if so i know where i can 24# injectors for 100.00 per 8

just got back from the yard and rx7 injectors do not fit however the ford racing yellow tops that i found i a thunderbird fit perfectlly

^^ You will hafta tune your A/F mix when you upgrade the injectors. The 4.6L gold-tops are 19# like ours, but a different atomization pattern. If I remember right I got a lean code tho. ?? Maybe a hose was bad tho. Been awhile since I got those. FYI...

as far as i know just a standerd 4.6. i read some where that the injectors i found are 19# and our stock injectors are 17# so if this is true allthough not a big jump it still is an up grade.. just wounder if it would be good enough for 5psi of boost.

WRONG! The zetec stock injectors only have two atomization ports, but the 4.6 has 4. The debate has been around for a long time as to what poundage the zetec injectors are. I've heard 16#, 17#, 19#, and 22#! I know for sure that the 4.6L injectors are different (maybe NOT poundage!) I've had them installed for years, now. Tuning is necessary.

look for an old turbo coupe, svo mustang, they had brown top 30# i think, the escort GT had bigger injectors., blue tops out of sho taurus, , lincoln continentals, were all blue top 24# injectors, ford rangers some had red top injectoprs that are 30#
Orange/yellow=19lb
Light Blue=24lb
Red=30lb
Brown=30lb
Silver or Dark Blue=36lb
Green= 42lb
