Can I buy that magazine from you? I can't find it anywhere. It also doesn't list any cam upgrades either, running stock cams?

I also have the magazine :P I'll check for the cams.

LoL it's a one of a kind magazine. I've been meaning to scan the pages so people can get a better image but I have no scanner. A little bit ago someone found a site that sold old magazines by year and month so a few people grabbed a copy. Maybe one of them will post up.

Damn, hardly anything in that car is from a ZX2. That engine bay looks empty.

Dude, there is no way it only made 225 hp... That's just bad. I wonder if they are talking about crank.

a little extreme, but those little 13's in the front and the 15's in the front give it a cool old school kind of stance

I got the last copy of that website. As soon as I have time to hook up the scanner to the computer I will scan and post better pics.

I don't know. I don't think anything in that engine bay is from a Zx2, seriously.

In the magazine pic, it looks like it has a ZX2 head and valvecover but in the other pics it looks like a Focus head. Apparently the one ZX2 thing it had left wasn't good enough. My guess is it was for more cam options

there was 2 stages of modification on this car. I guess at the beginning they used zx2 stuff and then they moved to focus parts probably because there was more possibilities.
+ it's using a MTX75 tranny with a quaife diff IIRC

I don't understand the "dual throttle bodies".
Those sure looks like ITBs to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If they had stock cams, that would make a bit more sense. If they put new cams in there, it would have bumped up power a lot I bet.

yeah, looks like itb and cop.
Even when it had a zx2 head the vct wasn't even plugged into anything. Also anyone notice that when it has a focus head on it that it doesn't have coil on plug any longer. It could of had stock cams when it had the zx2 head...with hp numbers that low I just don't see how it could have all that is listed done to it and big lift cams. Especially on race gas....I've seen an all motor ecotec make more then that on their stock cams, and they are less aggressive then zx2 cams. I guess it was quite a long time ago though...

Still though, a company as big as Esslinger making a Z with that power? Pretty weak. Especially with all the hype they seemed to be putting into it.
yea...they probably didn't make a full effort. Either they were lazy or ford told them not to.

I’ve heard a few rumors about this car, one that it did 10’s on nitrous, the other that it shifted at 10’000 rpm’s. Does anybody know the true number’s?
I wonder where the car is now? Here’s a few more pic’s I found.

They kept the sound deadening stuff? What the crap...

Dude, there is no way that thing ran up to 10,000. If it had stock cams, even with ITBs, you wouldn't have much power over 8,000.

Yeah, like I said, rumors.
On another note, in the second pic I posted, in front of the front wheel in the bumper, is that a side exhaust I see. I bet that would sound mean!

I bet it would sound like shit. Mean, but like crap. LoL
With all the high rpm power stuff they did (stupid short exhaust, ITBs, high flowing head), they must have put different cams in there. There is just no way they could make that power on stock cams.

The throttle bodies are like the Weber 48's , one base with the throttle shaft connecting both . Two throttle bodies , two fuel rails all connected . The cams were probably in the .430"-.450" range with the compression around 12.5:1 , should be close to 225whp . The throttle bodies TMW or TWM , should be TWM's .
the car red lined at 9600, it ran twm's , and the "vct delete" wasn't a vct delete, it was the pulley for the dry sump.
I know where the car is now, and its not in one piece. Its been cut in half and put in storage.
