Cops busting down on racers in San Diego?

I heard a quick bit on the news were SDPD arrested 18 people for "illegally moddifying and racing." Anyone know anything more?

My car is FAR from illegal and it doesn't look or sound street racer material, my mods list is short but I am about to buy a Trubendz kit, and maybe some lower springs. Just curious if anyone knows what criteria meets SDPD warrent to arrest and pull over "racers." Or if they are just targeting a specific area in san diego.

Well, there are several hotspots in the state for street racers. But as long as you're not driving like a jackass you should be ok.

I was harassed a couple times in my old escort, but never in my ZX2.

yea thats what I figured it was, I have a JBA header and it says "Performance" right on it so it would be interesting to explain that one, since I tossed the old heat shield. Can't wait for my Trubendz to come in and the Powder UDP going to be a fun year!

What he said.... The CARB number is at least up to 2002. I'm not sure if it's good for my '03.

Actually funny thing is i just passed my smog last week, my CO2 went up .2% and my 02 went down .1% (yay I am getting a better burn!) gas millage is a steady 29.5 mpg over the last 3 weeks on the freeway.

What I thought was interesting was that my HC went WAY down to 0.9 when the average is like 7. So I guess I am producing more CO2 but less off the others that have MAX limits. Go figure. I'll fetch the numbers when I get out of the office.

when i got my zx2 impounded for doing 110 in a 55, and the last time it got impounded for driving like a idiot again, they never looked under the hood or else i would have been really screwed. I had a lot going on under there.
