I'm assuming it can be, but I wouldn't know where to start. Did the SR's have there own series of numbers or where they random zx2's with random VIN's that just happened to have the S/R parts installed?
The VIN on my zinc yellow sr is 3FAKP1138YR217512. Does this mean anything?

It appears that they are a bit random. Even after gettign a few hundred S/R VINs they don't seem to be in any particular order.

just like any other specialty or oddball series, they were probably done in waves so as to not tie up regular assembly, I'm sure you can still find out, but it'll be more difficult than if they were all made at once

The S/R's were ran down the line with all the other Escort/Tracers . Digits 12 through 17 are the production sequence number . You may find a few that were ran in a small batch . Each model year change the numbers start at 100001(Ford line)
