I have a 1998 ZX2 and i have gone through 2 new timing belt in the past 2 weeks. Wondering if anybody knows what the problem is and how to fix it.

Thank you!

change your lower timing pulley behind the crank, and all the other timing pulleys, get a new belt and you'll be set.

Also make sure you dont have crankwalk, auto or manaul?

sound's like an idler is freezing up. Definitely a good idea to replace them.

I changed out ALL my pullys brand new, new timing belt, drove it 50 miles and mine also shredded into 100 pieces.

check your tension on your tensioner pulley

make sure that the notches are lined up on the tensioner
or something is binding, i dont know i would have to look at it.

Ours was getting messed up too, and we changed out all the pulleys. Now it works like a charm.

Only the early models had that lower idle pulley.
