New thread idea, an eBay lie of the day.
I'll start it out with a $140,000.00 Subaru:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___TURBO-750-HP-CUSTOM-2005-WRX-STI-NO-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ150262389906QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20Tr ucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150262389906
I have over $140,000 into it. Broken down the expenditures go as follows: STI Purchase price-$32,000. Custom Red and Black Suede interior, Sound System, custom radar detector and laser jammer in the suede head liner, Nav, XM and Sirius, Custom gauge pod and all I.C.E -$35,000. Custom Built Engine, Custom Twinscroll Headers, exhaust, and all engine/performance work including custom made and polished engine bay parts - $50,000. Body Work, including body kit, installation etc- $15,000. Then there are many large miscellaneous expenditures. For example, Wheels and tires ($3,000), suspension ($1,800), custom headlights ($1,500), Carbon Fiber Hood, Trunk, Wing and Fenders ($5,000), not to mention every little minor detail on the car that I have spent money on to make everything perfect.
It makes 500 WHP and 750HP at the Crank.

The $35,000 for stereo work and gauges seems a bit high to me also. :D

With custom seats and suede overlayed interior? Thats a few grand. Then depending on what he has for stereo equipment and whether or not he installed it himself?
We are extremely lucky dude, and no one realizes it. We get all of these custom made parts hella cheap.
subi's have 34% drive terrain loss?

funny, i was thinking about it too, that's impossible ....
And i bet he does not have one second of wrench time in it. hince the "invested price" meaning all the parts then the redicilous labor charges the shop makes.
this has to be one of those assholes that has more dollars than sense and decides he wants a fast import so he goes to the dealer buys a brand new car, then head to the import shop and hands them the keys and a blank check. then when he gets it back it scares the living shit out of him so he sells it.
i can see the money thats put into the car. 15K for body work is easy on a REALLY nice fitment and respray. 50K in the engine, also easy to do. 35K on ICE, yeah mostly the installer raping the hapless bastard on labor. 5K on the CF goodies easy with Seibon shit.
he should write a letter to the makers of "tha fast n da furious" on how their movies have ruined his life. im sure the dumb shit wouldnt have ever got into the import scene if it wasnt for that damn movie.

15k for bodywork, well with the way it looks i would say it was worth it, i mean look at it he's using carbon fenders which might of needed to be adjusted to fit right and using a bodykit which looks to bolts up nicely that might of needed to be redone, cant see the ass so u cant see if the trunk and rear bumper fits like stock, the side skirts look like there done pretty well, for it to look that nice and done by a shop i say it was every penny. my dad is a body tech and even with a discount, for labor and everything it would of cost me more then an arm and a leg to have my kit done the way i wanted at the shop he works. i saved a shit load by doing it myself with my dad's help. bodywork isn't cheap if its done right.

Hood 640 + installation and fitment
Trunk 760 + installation and fitment
If he has them cf doors 10k + installation and fitment
Front lip 500 + installation and fitment\
Fenders 750
Wing 700
CF body kit 3k
that's a lot of custom cf work so it's possible considering the price of cf now days and installers charge a butt load for cf work I checked 3 places to get a custom cf console and they all wanted to charge me 800+

Why not take the money and actually buy a car like a Porche, or something...I hate people who blow craploads on money on cars....People who put more money into their car then the car is worth are retarded. It's such a waste.

yea really... this site is full of people that put more money into the zx2 then its worth but we do it. for that quality of work i wouldn't doubt it, especially if done by a well know place that build cars. If you have a well known place to do it they will charge alot because they will do it right and not half ass the bodywork also so you can go around saying i got it done at so and so's so people go whaoo and WOW. you have to think about it, time, labor and materials putting a fiberglass/Carbon Fiber kit on, me and my dad have almost 500 bucks or maybe more in materials alone in filler, fiberglass, tpo, panel bond (different then bondo and better), different grit of sand paper, primer, diffrent size of masking tape and also masking paper. then we have more then 40 hours of work into the kit to do it right and with the custom mods done to the stuff so if it was a shop you would have to think of the time put into it and also the labor, doesn't take long to add up.

Ok let me rephrase. People who spend a lot of money doing body work that is worth more than their car. Performance is a little different because at least you get something out of it. I just dont see the point of all this fiberglass and carbon fiber especially on this subie. Is he making any return on doing all this work or is it just for the pure satisfaction of having a unique car?

you're retarded. if you spent a fuckload of cash on the engine, interior, etc. you'll WANT to repaint the car (i'm talkin' about ZX2s) and get it nice...
when you think a full paint job on a car is 3-4k+, then everyone who repaints his Z is a dumbass to you?
fuck buying an other car, having a modded Z is unique, lots of ppl absolutely LOVE their Z and that's why we spend so much money on it. + it's worth it IMO, cuz with the cash we put on it, it's lightyears away from any car you can buy stock (with = money)...especially performance wise

God ebay just sells alot of crap. BTW I love spending money on my zxpoo and actually I have driven many many vechiles that have not impressed me as much as the zx2 does. From 69 camero SS's, 12 second dsm's, to newer GTO's. Couldn't trade it for nothing.
