Is it possible to only have power locks activated by the remote? I want to have power locks but I don't want power windows or interior power locks bc I have my tweeters located in the location where the switches would go, and I like manual windows better anyway. What all would I need to grab? Actuators, the remote unit for the car...

You would need the door lock actuators, the brain for the key less entry, remote and the switches to make it keyless.

Did the swap, love it...thanks guys!
Hey I have a question. I have manual windows and locks, but when I bought the car, they gave me a ford keyless entry remote, which so far doesn't work on anything. Went to the local AutoZone to test the remote and it works, but wondering if it's even for this vehicle considering everything is manual. Anyway to check?

Try putting your car into programming mode for the keyless entry. Turn your ignition switch from off to on 8 times in a row ending with the key on the on position. If you have power lock actuators, they will lock and then unlock immediately after you do that. If your car does that, then press the lock button on your remote. The doors should then lock. Turn the key to the off position and your remote should work. If nothing happens when you do any of this, then your car does not have keyless.
Thanks I'll try that today and let you know how it works.

I have a 98 and mine is the same way too. For the first week or two after I bought the car I didn't realize the keyless entry/lock only works on the driver's side.

My '98 works both doors. You just press the unlock button twice.
One press only does the driver's side.
Try it.

I went to the dealer yesterday because the original invoice sticker showed the remote convience package, but when I bought it from the original owner this Tuesday he did not have any remotes and didn't even seem to remember if there ever were any!
Anyway I had the dealer run the VIN and sure enough mine did come with it so I bought 1 remote and now I can open the drivers side door with one press of the unlock button, the passenger side with two presses and the trunk with the trunk button!
Much happier with this little option now!

Hey, I've got a couple of questions.
First, where can I get a remote for my car, how do I know what remote to get, and how do I program it? The part number for my remote/keyless brain is "F87F-15K602-AA." I searched that on Google, and an F-150 forum came up, so this is not the only vehicle that this brain was installed on. Well I can see that I can get a remote on eBay, but the other questions still stand.
Second, when I tried that program mode to see if I had the actuators, only the driver's side went. I looked behind the rubber piece on the passenger side, and it did have the four wires going into the door. So my question is, how do I know if I have an actuator in there, and if it isn't in there, can I put one in and have the brain operate it?
I'm gearing up to be having remote keyless!!
Wow, all this came up from trying to wire a trunk release button :D

for the pass side.. you can pull off the door panel to see. 4 wires would make it unlikely that you have.. 2 would be for the speaker and 2 should be for the power mirror that you most likely have....

I do have power mirrors, but 1) I was looking in the dark last night, and 2) it only looked like I had 4 wires on the driver's side also. I'll look at both again in daylight. If I do have a harness for the pass side, can I just add the actuator?
