Past couple days my cars been idleing low, expecially at stoplights. Its a 99mtx and i was wondering if this is comon? Can i fix, and how? I would normally just turn the idle up so it nolonger chugs at 4-500rpm instead of the usual smooth 7-800rpm but i didn't want to change anything without finding out what the problem is first.
P.s. usually happens after the car warms up or has been running/drivin.
Thx in advance

overdrive pulley should help a bit, did you recently install an under drive pulley?

no, but i bought one today off powder lol. So i guess il REALLY need the overdrive pully.
I do have alot of electronics, subs, tweeters, dvd, neons, radar on at most times, think thats the prob? Should i run switch's so they're not always on? ha i've been procrastinating that.

Odd that this is just happening all of a sudden in the last few days. Have you changed anything with your car recently?
I think someone posted a thread before the forums died explaining the power consumption of our car and how it can relate to a rough idle. If that's the case, your electronics are probably drawing a lot of power.

Most recent thing was a new exhaust(bout a month ago) but that shouldn't have hurt anything. Its only catback and bought it off another member on here. Ik wierd it just happened. Im gunna have my batterie/alt checked at the local shop, get an alt pully, get switches for the electronics and hope it goes away. If not im sure you'll hear from me soon.

OMGOMGOMGOMG
Every problem it seems I've heard recently has been almost the same thing as mine and I have told them to check the pcv valve hose...so um check it. Especially check the elbow to the bottom of the intake manifold. There was a hole in mine big enough to fit my finger, the sound...sounded like it was coming from around the alternator, and the idle would drop down to 4-500 and sometimes die.

Hmm how to explain this without pictures. Go to your engine bay and look down. Look at your exhaust manifold heat shield. At the far right of your exhaust manifold you will see a bolt sticking out, this is an exhaust manifold bolt. 2 inches below that is the pcv valve.

Your idle air motor is probably dirty.
Clean your throttle body and the IAC motor.
Let us know.
