I just bought a 2006 Buick LaCrosse and it has the premium sound and all that. I am not looking to put in an aftermarket stereo in, but I was wondering if there is anyway to play songs off of my MP3 player or cell phone through my car stereo speakers. I know a little about FM transmitters, and I'm thinking this is my only option. My question for you is, what is the easiest and/or cheapest way for me to do this without replacing the stock stereo?

FM transmitters work fairly easily, but you get what you pay for. I've seen them anywhere from like $5-$75, the extremely cheap ones are pretty awful. I'm sure the top dollar ones are better, but for that money you could spend a little more and get a new HU, with an aux or ibus input.
I have a decent fm transmitter lying around, I think it was about $40 new, it only works with iPod. I have no need for it anymore, make an offer if you want it. I can get pics for you tomorrow.

If you have a cassette player (some newer cars still do) then you can buy one of the cassette adapters that goes into a 1/8th plug.
