OK. I have done a few other things recently like a header, intake,AC and PS delete, ES motor mounts and powders pulley and wanted to put a CWQ3 computer I got laying around in my car. I HAVE looked in the DIY section about it and it mostly talks about the AC working properly. I abviously dont care about that. Some others post that you only eed to rewire the MAF. Does anyone really know what i would need to do? To many variations in that post. If there is anyone that HAS done this please let me know. I would really appriciate it. If it works good maybe i should put the wifes NGP0 in..hahahaha

You have to put the MAF, CCRM, and PCM in there.

if you don't have A/C then you do not have to do anything.

there is no need to rewire a MAF the pins for the MAF signals and IAT are the same between all years. They just integrated the IAT into the MAF on the later models.

the only reason you have to use a newer model CCRM and do a little rewiring is to get the A/C to work properly. if you don't have A/C then there is no need. the pinouts for all other functions are the same between the years.

Oh shit, no a/c.

Yup, what straightupmad said.

With no A/C and the original CCRM, the cooling fan may still stay on when the key is on full time. I can't remember for certain.

You do not have to use the MAF from the later car. There is a slight difference in the way they are calabrated but you probably won't notice it so you don't have to worry about it unless you just like to solder wires together.

you maybe right about the cooling fan. i've always had the later model CCRM in my car (a '98 ), but i have had the original MTA5, a NGP0, and now a NLX2 in it. I've never had any problems just swapping computers, as the a/c never worked (due to the mix match of the MTA5 and later model CCRM from the original owner) and the entire a/c system being removed now.

i know the cooling fan doesn't run all the time with the early computer and later CCRM. of course, it doesn't run all the time with a later model PCM and CCRM combo.
