They are all actually VERY decent and not just the entry evel stuff. Its about in the middle below the competition stuff. I'm just an authorized dealer for all of them and can get decent pricing.
Don't take my prices as being thier quality. For example, the PowerBass subs retail for $130 each and the Alphas retail for $120 each.

i'm kinda scared to buy anything from you....
lol jk but my price range will open up more on my birthday bday money ftw. thanks for your help. i dont know too much about subs the only brands i hear are good are kicker alpine and pioneer so when it comes to subs i get confused lol

Kicker and Alpine are waaaaaaay overpriced. Just like JL Audio. They put out decent products but cost to much. Especially when you can get the same performance from a cheaper (in price) brand.
I can put together a Pioneer package too. I just became an authorized dealer for them. My shop will soon be listed on thier website. : )
And don't worry, I'm a nice guy. I only get angry when members try and sell thier stuff in my business section. Especially when he is trying to undersell my products.
I have let it go in the past but I have decided to stop it. This was a business transaction between you and I, not the 3 of us.
Anyways, just let me know what you decide.....

Ha i know you're a good guy I was just joking. What would be the best I can get without going overboard in price?
For example if the best 12 inch sub available was $800 but the second best was only $200 what would the second best be?
I guess the best bang for my buck. $150 per sub limit.

If he carries memphis I would go with those.

Memphis is good, but I don't carry them.
With a budget of $150 a sub I have:
Phoenix Gold RSDC122/124 Competition Subs: $130
PowerBass 3XL12D: $160
Planet Audio Big Bang Sub BB12DVC: $123
Power Acoustic MOFO Sub MOFO12: $143
Alphasonik PSW812J: $145
MA Audio Competition Sub MA1208XL: $150
MTX TR7512-22 or -44: $145
MTX T7512-04 or -44: $145
I really love the PowerBass subs. They pound hard!!! They also retail for over $600 each!!!

Also remember, you step up in subs, you will have to step up in the amps aswell. These subs are way more powerfull and require larger amps.

Now what would the powerbass one be? Competition level? Is the clarity good? I want clean crisp bass. How many watts RMS does it put out?
AZN_ZX2

What about Rockford? How do they compare to PowerBass?
SeRiousZX2
07-23-2008, 10:55 AM
The PowerBass 3XL is a competition sub. Its a 1700 watt 12" sub with a 850 watt RMS rating. Its dual 1 ohm and 3" voice coils.
I would then bump up to the ASA2000.1D class D amp to push 2 of these beast. Retail on it is over $600 but your price is $320.
Rockford is OK at best. They have sold out to the industry. After making a name for thierselves they started using less expensive materials and putting out cheaper quality products. Their subs are too "boomy" with not very impressive clarity. I would take the PowerBass over RF anyday.
But if you really want RF let me know and I'll get you some prices on it.

I am assuming you would recommend the Powerbass ones again. What are the specs? Would I be able to fit 2 10" in a box with ease?
Should I get a different amp than the one you showed me before? If so which one would you recommend and what are the specs?

Well, actually the 3XL subs are the highest series of 10" subs PowerBass has. Its def. a competition sub. They also offer the 2XL for $105.
Anways, spec on the 3XL10D:
750 watts rms
1500 watts max
Dual 1 ohm
3" voice coils
443 oz motor structure
39Hz - 500Hz frequency response
6" mounting depth
These have also been designed to work in conjunction with Class D amps.
You can actually switch to the ASA1500.1D amp which is $275. It will push 2 of those 10s perfectly.

Do you sell boxes as well? Will these fit easily into the trunk of a ZX2? And would it be ok to use these with an AVIC N1 headunit?
SeRiousZX2
08-12-2008, 10:05 AM
Yes, I sell boxes. What is your budget for 1 or 2 boxes.
A Pioneer HU would be perfect for these subs.
AZN_ZX2
08-12-2008, 10:12 AM
Hm I'd prefer one box. I don't know how much boxes usually run for though. I'd prefer to spend under $100 if possible...
SeRiousZX2
08-12-2008, 12:25 PM
It would be $40 + shipping. I would have it drop-shipped from the warehouse.
Box ban either be angle or square for 10 10" subs. I prefer the square look better in trunk applications.
AZN_ZX2
08-12-2008, 01:50 PM
What's dropped shipped? And will it fit easily?
SeRiousZX2
08-12-2008, 02:23 PM
Yes it will fit.
Dimensions:
32" long
12" high
10" deep
Has 2 seperate sealed chambers for each 10" sub. Covered in a dark charcoal carpet and terminal cups. The only thing that I would do is go back in and add some 2x2 inch braces in the corners to handle the 3XL series.
Dropp-shipping is where the warehouse ships it out instead of it going to another business first. If you are unsure about that, I can pick it up and ship it my self but it usually cost more. Due to a warehouse shipping millions of items a month they have large discounts with UPS and can get it there cheaper. Sereiously, it will probably cost $25 to ship. If I were to do it, it would be near $40.

Ok so my list is
2 PowerBass 3XL12D 10" Subs at $160 each
1 ASA1500.1D Amp at $275
1 Sealed Box for 2 10" Subs at $40
$635 total not including shipping. And I'll throw in $20 for answering all of my questions. So $655.
Is there anything else I will need? Speaker wire, installation material, or something else? Will the amp overheat? Does it have an internal fan or cooler or should I buy one? Is it better to have 2 amps one for each sub?
Also do you carry Viper car alarms? And did you have the radar detector Cobra XRS R9G IntelliLink?
I might upgrade headunits. Can you tell me prices on Pioneer D3, F900bt, Z3 and N4?
Thanks sorry for all the questions. Let me know your paypal and I'll throw a few dollars your way.

I would probably throw in at least a 4g amp install kit. I can get that to you for $25. Comes with everything you will need.
You will also need some polyfill to put in the box. You can buy this at Wal Mart for $2 in the sewing/craft area.
Fan does not have a cooling fan. I have been running one for months without it ever overheating. What you want to make sure is that there is at least 4-6 inches of space all the way around it so heat can escape. Under a seat wouldn't be a good option unless you install a cross flow fan. If you are just going to mount it in the trunk, you should be just fine.
This amp will handle those subs fine. If you wanted to install 2 amps you can. I would go with 2 ASA800.2s. They are $180 each or $260 for 2.
I don't carry Viper. But I do have other brands. I am having some issues with one of my alarm suppliers though. I ordered a replacement Key Fob with LCD screen for another TZX2 member and have yet to get it. But I have other awesome alarms with full features that compare to Viper. Viper is just a name. It doesn't matter how good the alarm is, if someone wants your car or whats in it, they will get it.
Yes I can get the Cobra XRSR9G; $330 - very nice unit!!!
Pioneer D3: $770
Pioneer F900BT: $780
Pioneer Z3 $1270
Pioneer N4 is actually on sale right now for $925
Paypal is: seriouszx2@yahoo.com when you are ready to buy all the stuff. Just let me know so I can do a shipping total for you as well.

Now from my little understanding of audio, with that one amp I would only be getting around 300watts to each sub because they would have to be installed inline and the 2 voice coil things. Would it be better to have 2 amps?
SeRiousZX2
08-13-2008, 01:29 PM
No. you would wire the subs at 1 ohm mono. At this, the amp puts out 1500 watts. Split that by 2 which would be 750 watts each sub. Now grant it, you will be pushing the amp to its max but with proper tuning and gain/volume control you should be ok. Unless you jump up to the ASA2200.1D to have power in reserve and keep the amp running cooler.

2 PowerBass 3XL12D 10" Subs at $160 each
1 ASA1500.1D Amp at $275
1 Sealed Box for 2 10" Subs at $40
A 4G amp install kit at $25
$660 total not including shipping.
However I'd like to switch the amp to a ASA2200.1D
Price quote? I'm leaving the site temporarily, but I'd like to keep in touch for these items. Don't worry about a shipping quote yet.
