Well, I was on rt30. Minding my own business in the camaro. At a red light and this guy, who looked drunk/stonned, started reving at me in his truck. It was a F150 8ft bed with maybe a flowmaster. My gf started laughing. So he gunned it at the light, and I shifter out of 1st around 5-6K to let the exhaust scream at him. Mind you we were behind a couple cars. So, he starts reving again. Light goes green he cuts in front of me and go to the next light. After this light there is 2 lanes to turn left. He took the right I took the left. Waited maybe 2min for the light. Whole time the gf is like, "Kyle! behave!!." I was thinking about sitting for a few sec when it went green, just in case this guy punched it and cut me off. Light goes green he take his lane I take mine. He started to get on it and I hammered 1st and 2nd which pulled like 7cars on him. Gf was giving me a look. I was like, "I wouldn't of raced if I didn't know I was gonna smoke him. Oh, and there was a diesel truck with us spooling his turbo. Which is a whole different topic on how people with turbo diesels are gay.
yeah, not some great story, but kinda funny. Don't take me as a "my camaro is the best, crap on ZX2s guy." I've raced a maybe 10 different cars and out of those 10 lost once to a civic hatch. Was a friends car and from a roll. he wouldn't race from a stop. Had me by one car.

Turbo diesel trucks... Most around here have stacks, spew black smoke and are still slow. They don't tow with the truck, i think the bulk of the guys buy them cuz it's turbo'd. I mean, cool, wow, pay you expensive diesel cost. I hardly see anyone drive one of those trucks like a normal human being.

Turbo diesel trucks are pretty much always fast with basic mods.
One of my friends in my garage has a cummins diesel. Last dyno he laid down 600 hp an 1200 ft lbs of torque.
He run's an 11 flat with nitrous.
I would say it's pretty quick.

I'm not saying they arn't quick. Just the local ones around here are rice but in truck form. I hate diesel. Nothing like driving to work in the morning, taking in the fresh air only to get stuck behind a bus or truck and smell the fums.

Yeah I'm racing that kid when I'm done my car.
He apparently flows straight diesiel into his smoke stacks so when you race him at the strip so he smokes you out and you can't see anything.
Pretty lame.

Diesels burn cleaner than gas if maintained properly and get twice the mileage of a gas vehicle hence why it's so expensive, Diesel can be grow organically vs made out of oil.
Gas Ford Focus 28 mpg
Diesel Ford Focus 2.0L = 52 - 1.6L = 65 mpg

Diesel fuel is more expensive now because of the new low sulfur diesel, it requires more refining. More refining = higher cost.
I've driven around York many times & the diesel truck phenomenon in is full swing. In fact, I'll say it's just as bad as the ricer movement "Giv3 me teh NAWZ!!!" was after TF&TF was in theaters.
I used to think they were cool, but they're more annoying than hondas are now.

Yep, you hit the nail on the head there. Like any import, I don't mend them if they are done up nicely. But the bulk are stacks, programmers and big tires.

There were about 10 guys like that at my school, all had stacks/straight pipes, huge tires and a programmer and thought they were bad ass. Two of them flipped daddy's 40,00 dollar trucks this year

Ha, glad I'm not alone on this. I know fast and the furious brought us ricers. But what was the cause to this effect?

I'd lean more towards the increasing popularity [in this area anyways] of tractor pull competitions and truck modification shows [the old 'Trucks!' with Stacey David, Truck U etc]. With Buck Motorsports Park only 10 miles south of Lancaster City, the diesel pickup boom hit hard here.
