I have and enforcer alarm by seco alarm. and i have a remote starter by autocommand. I already went to their sites with no help found. My question is can the 2nd channel on the alarm be used to activate the remote starter, and how?

Thanx.

nevermind, the shop assured me that it couldnt be done, unless it was a single unit. that or two remotes......hmmmm, i dont think i would mind, as long as it was nice and cool inside the car.......

does the alarm have on board relays? i don't see why it would not be possible regardless...may not be easy and there probably are not directions for it anywhere but im sure its possible.

Autocommand sells (at least they used to) add-on remote starters. They have a grounded input that starts the car by sensing you locking the doors twice. Or something like that. If you have the instructions for the module you have it should tell you if this input is available.

If you haven't seen it, the 'Remote Start w/ Keyless Entry' how-to is back up in the Knowledge Base.

No

What are you basing this answer on? I have one on each of my MTX ZX2's. There are MTX safe remote starters available. They are difficult to find. They have a special arming procedure to make them safe.

Couldn't you just use the e-brake ground as the safety? And make sure it's not in gear of course lol.

All the remote starts I have found use the e-brake ground to start the car.If you dont have the e-brake on the system wont start.

What if someone else drives your car and parks it in gear with the ebrake on, then you push the button by mistake when the keys are in your pocket? This is only one of the issues with using an ATX remote starter on a MTX.
