Philly tried these ads a few years back, with Betsy Ross sewing a rainbow flag, gay minutemen all over each other...caused more outrage than tourism.

This kind of stuff makes me want to avoid places, especially with a small child that I'm now responsible for. Takes away the family-friendly atmosphere.
