350hp and 400ft lbs. of torq that's sounds pretty mean not to mention the option of bigger turbo's if someone really wanted too.

I wonder how it'll do on gas. From what i read on the EcoBoost engines they are going after high HP without slaughtering the MPGs. I dunno, you guys think people will buy it if it gets 20mpg or less?

According to the epa 2009 and up vehicles must have 28mpg highway rating or better, I'll have to find the article again

Yeah there was a site called bringbackthesho.com or something. Looks like an online petition worked afterall.

350hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque from a twin turbo Direct injected VCT on all cams motor. I bet fuel mileage is better then most expect.

i don't see that as possible. the market for cars in the US would be cut in half at least

Actually, it pertains to a certain percentage of the manufacturers fleet, from what I have read. Specialty cars wouldn't fall into that segment because of the volume of sales. Thats why cars like the corvette zr1 or ford gt can still be put into production. As for eco-boost, the majority of them are smaller engines designed to give the power of the bigger ones without sacrificing fuel economy. For instance, if you want the power of a V6 in a taurus, but want better economy, you would get the ecoboost 4 cylinder. I know there are plans for an ecoboost f-150. so chances are, it will be a turbocharged v6 to give you the better fuel economy. with the power when you need it.

People who buy cars of this caliber (performance: any SRT8, etc.) probably don't care too much about the gas mileage.

I'm sure Ford will put this car into production just as we see it here.

And then they will issue refund checks to all the V8 SHO owners for the troubles of getting their engines replaced due to a bad design of the camshaft sprockets. Then Ford will admit the design was theirs & that they're "sorry".

How can they release this, it will beat the V8 Mustang in straight line performance and probably all around?

Yeah, the EPA can't put a fuel mileage constraint on cars that soon. There would be no more diesel trucks, Mustangs, G35's, V8 trucks, Altima's, Maxima's, Tahoe's, the list could go on and on and on. I have read, however, that they are attempting to have all car MAKERS have a combined fuel average of 28mpg or something by 2017. Which means, if they produce 10 cars. 3 can get 10 mpg's, 3 can get 20, but their last 4 would have to get more than 47 mpg's to hit the 28mpg average. Which translates to each company have their 1 staple performance monster, and a couple of trucks. Everything else will be high mpg. Ford will have the Stang, and the F-series pick-up. Chevy will have the Vette and the Silverado, so on and so forth.

I'd take a twin turbo V-6 over the Yamaha V-8 any time.

Wasn't it a Yamaha V6 ?

The V8 wasn't as much Yamaha as the V6s were. It was a Ford design with a few 'insights' from Yamaha. Yamaha assembled the V8 engines in Japan.

Well, that is until the camshaft sprocket issue came full circle. All of a sudden it's a full Yamaha design.

Either way, the new one will destroy the old ones (power wise).

All they have to do is shutoff half the engine at highway speeds to achieve 30mpg. Some cadillacs do it, the new Charger does it.

I'm guessing around 32-36 hwy, 24-28 city mpg. It's a v-6 not a v-8.

I see cars like that driving around here all the time in Denver (with the covers on them and stuff). Sometimes they'll have the sensors all over them, and the laptop hooked up to the console. I always stare when they drive around. Wonder if they'd get mad if I took pictures?

It might be a V-6, but it is still pressurized.
