Drivetrain Issues.

Well, Not 100% sure what I need yet, got to get it to the lift at my fathers work, however; I know I need a shifter assembly

May also need a transmission. MTX. Anyone have any input or extra's lying around?

I have a tranny for you, its got about 80k on it, and ran fine while it was in the car.

Im located in wv so shipping shouldnt be horrible.

But whats the car doing to make you think its the trans?

Well, I was driving home and when I tried switching from 2nd to third, the shifter stopped short and clicked, like it was fighting the syncronizers. So I put the cutch back down, coasted to the light, and when I tried to move in 1st, the gear wasn't catching. 2nd did the same, but it slightly caught enough to get me into the intersection and I couldnt move, 3rd was 100% OK, so I used third (Bad Idea, I know, but its a real bad intersection to be stuck in) to get the car out, and was able to get it home without downshifting.

Now, its in my backyard, and the shifter assembly will not move at all. Completely locked up, and it ended up breaking. So Now we think the tranny is bad, and I KNOW I need a new Shifter assembly. My price at ford is $200.00 *NAPA DISCOUNT*. So IDK what to do ATM. I need to fix this ASAP, as Its my daily driver, and I cant afford to drive the jeep 50 miles a day to work.

What are you looking to make on the tranny?

Well, I posted this in another thread of mine, but for update on this:

Well, Went to a local pick and pull today, walked out with a Shifter assembly and a new (used) transmission! 150$ total. You have no Idea how lucky I was. I talked to Ford, and he told me any 5 speed escort 97-03 would work for the shifter assembly, So I found one, and instantly hopped in. Not 5 seconds later My father called to me "Hey, ZX2 Here, Red.... 5 Speed"

So, I ran to that one, we looked under the hood, NO ENGINE! Still a tranny! Took maybe 1hr to pull everything. Few bolts, lifted it out the hood, and walked away. They are going to crush the car next week. Nothing left but the steering wheel, seats, and e-brake. Doors are smashed, panels gone. Fenders are good, bumper is melted and front cover is snapped.

Good find on a mtx that's descent in a JY. wish I could find one.
