I Have my two 10" Mtx Thunder subs and amp already bought and I need to purchase my speakers and deck. What do you guys think about what I picked out for speakers/deck?

I haven't had experience with Kicker or Pioneer in a few years, but I have Infinity Reference speakers in all of my stock locations. I've been extremely pleased with them. I like that the tweeters can be angled. They have reasonable bass response from a small speakers and extremely clear highs.

cant beat the deck for the price...i would ditch the rear speakers and get nicer front speakers and or an amp for them

infinity is unsurpassed with high frequencies, i prefer jbl for the midrange. go for it i say, kicker is good for amps and subs. i got the zx750.1, the best amp i have ever owned, totally underrated wattage.

I have Infinity 6.5" speakers and LOVE them. They're crystal clear and handle power.

Great choice.

Great PRICE. I paid $100 at Circuit City for them about 4-5 years ago. Yep, they still sound great too.

infinity is unsurpassed with high frequencies, i prefer jbl for the midrange. go for it i say, kicker is good for amps and subs. i got the zx750.1, the best amp i have ever owned, totally underrated wattage.

there are plenty of speakers out that can produce frequencies better than infinity or jbl...sound quality is not really something that you can judge for other people unless you are simply going by what is on paper. you can use a mic to measure the frequency response of speaker a and compare it to speaker b but if you are simply just listening to them it is nothing more than an opinion. i prefer harsh highs while many people prefer a more laid back sound...on paper my personal setup would not look that great because of this.

also to say you prefer a certain company for highs or mids etc is kinda ridiculous unless you have heard every brand in various enclosures etc...also the other brands you have heard...were they installed correctly? was it a fair comparison?

the best way to find a speaker/amp etc you like is to find something you like that is in the same or a similar setup. this can be hard to do but if someone else has already done it and it works then there is a much better chance you will be happy with it. if you cant find a setup you like then i recommend you learn at least the basic TS parameters and learn how to use them to find the speakers that are right for you. amps are a little tougher because some companies downright lie about the specs or at least exaggerate them. for the most part with amps you get what you pay for.

one last thing...how do you KNOW your zx750.1 is under rated?

it comes with a certificate from Kicker with a bench test of 900+watts.

I wouldn't trust the piece of paper.

Besides, power rating means nothing if you don't set it up and tune it properly and also pair it with good components.

Sometimes, less is more...unless you are CJW. :D

A guy puts a fancy guarantee on the box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.

Yeah, makes a man feel good.

Of course it does. Why shouldn't it?

You figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come down and leave a quarter, am i right, Ted?

What's your point?

The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer?

"Building model airplanes" says the little fairy. Well, we're not buying it.

He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes.

Next thing you know there's money missing off the dresser and your daughter is knocked up. I've seen it a hundred times.

But why do they put a guarantee on the box then?

'Cause they know all they sold you was a guaranteed piece of shit.

That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box
and mark it "guaranteed", I will. I got spare time.

But for now, for your customers' sake, for your daughter's sake you might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

the paper may be the truth but at what level of distortion? not saying you are wrong just making a point...if its at Anything over 1% its completely useless and if its above .5% its audible to most people so it would not be up to a lot of peoples standards now if its at .1% which has become the unofficial standard amongst audiophiles then thats just awesome. on a side note that was a great series of amps

I agree. The only issue is power for them to scream. The 6.5" Infiniti's posted by the OP are about the same price as the Reference components.

I have the component version of the posted Kicker 5x7's and they are loud and clear, but I also have 75 Watts RMS to each individual speaker. If you do buy coaxials, make sure the wire to the tweeter is accessible so you can put a set of crossovers on them. Poor mans components.

most coaxials have a built in crossover
