I don't like the loose feeling I get without it. So yea I am not one of those dumb ass people that run around without one on.

I just naturally put it on when I get in the car, whatever car, whatever side I'm on... I can't stand not having one on when driving on the road. I had to live without one once because I was in the middle seat and the seatbelt was back behind the seat and no one wanted to go searching for it...
I'm glad no more of the stupid auto seatbelt on my Tempo now that I finally get a Zx2. That thing is just about worthless. It doesn't lock when jerked forward fast or anything... So the only thing that would have helped me would be the lapbelt if I were to get in an accident.

I usually try to... I know it's 95% automatic when I'm the driver and about 85% when passenger

I rarely make it to the end of the street with out my belt on. sometimes, very late at night, just driving through my neighborhood at like 15mph, i might let it slide. soon as i come up on a big road or intersection it clicks on.

There is never a time I don't have it on. I put it on before I even start the car.

Can I answer both?
When I am driving any car, yes. When I am driving the truck, no. When I am a passenger in a truck, never, when I am a passenger in a car, usually. Backseat of a car, forget it.
I live in the country though. No big intersections or anything like that.

Back when I was in MN I wore it each and every time. Average speeds were a lot higher too though.
Now I don't mess with it if I'm in the car for less than 2 minutes - e.g. going to a friend's house that's 3 blocks away. Anytime I'm actually driving I have to have it on though.

After being ejected from my car in Dec. 2000, and spending Christmas in a coma, and fracturing my skull and pelvis, and severing my optic nerve (1/2 blind, now) YEEEESSSS!!! ALWAYS!

Always! My wife didn't used to until we got an Escape with the tattler alarm. Now we both do everytime.

Yeah, pay no attention to the "it might save my life" reason. :eyes: Seems like 95% of traffic fatalities around here are because the person wasn't wearing his or her seatbelt. Reason enough for me.
I wear mine all the time, the vehicle doesn't go in gear until the belt is on.

I always wear my seat belt but i dont wear it correctly. it goes under my arm most of the time, but there are times were i feel the ened to wear it right.. But i still wear it passanger or driver.

Correct me if I'm wrong- but isn't there some kind of statistic that most accidents will occur within so many miles of your home? Like those 3 blocks you're going is where you're most likely to get hit or hit someone... I might be wrong, but I know it was like that for awhile.
I used to not wear my seatbelt if I was the passenger or in the back- then there was an accident locally where 4 kids were in the car- only the driver was wearing a seat belt- and the driver is the only one who lived. The others were ejected- and the 2 kids in the back were thrown from the back of a Sunfire. I can just imagine the hell they went through on the way out of a 2 door compact...
I used to sometimes not wear my seatbelt as the driver- then I personally witnessed a guy driving, losing control of the car- being ejected, and having his SUV slam down on top of him and slide- turning him to hamburger.
After stuff like that happen- I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. I put my seatbelt on before I put the car in gear. Anyone riding in my car needs to have their belt on, or I won't move the car. Go read the local paper- I know a much of accident fatalities are people who don't wear their seatbelt. And it's not always being ejected- sometimes they're just smacked around enough stuff inside the car from not being buckled in and they get killed. And for those of you who don't wear you belts as a passenger or in the back- there's some nice stories around about those people killing people who are buckled in because they went flying.

Have to wear seat belt, don't want a ticket. Here in FL even as a passenger can get ticketed.

I actually feel awkward and naked without it. When I had a 4-point harness in, it took me like 2 weeks to get used to the way it felt on me. I always use my seat belt. I've seen what happens when you don't, and i do not want to be on the bad end of that someday. And it's saved me ass before.
I've actually got a rule in my car. I won't go anywhere until everyone has their belt on.

I always wear by belt when driving. Especially when in my car sitting in the recaro seats with out one feels weird. Only time I don't wear one is when I'm riding in my buddies jeep. Thats just because I'm to short and it would cut my throat if i was wearing it in a wreck. When were on a busy road, or interstate ill wear it and put the shoulder belt behind me. Which makes me feel somewhat like a kid, but its better then flying out the windshield going 75 on the interstate :eeek:

Thank you good sir.
But really I don't want someone I care for or even not care for die because I didn't take the two seconds to say "Hey, can you buckle your seatbelt for me?"
I had maybe one person refuse. She flat out said no. I was driving on route 76 I think and I said if you don't I'm going to pull over and stop until you do. Her boyfriend apologized to me and said he was nice enough to drive now put on your damn seatbelt.
Yeah she's a bitch lol

Do i wear it yes, never drive w/o one. Should i leagaly be obligated to? hell no. (rant allert) i can't stand the way insurence companies control goverments. insurence gives officials money to enforce seat belt laws. less people get hurt. insurence saves money and goverment makes money off tickets. who suffers? we do, everday we lose rights in this country.I can't wait for obama(total sacasm) to be president. btw i heard a story about a guy in an accident where he was not wearing a seat belt, survived and was ticketed.after the accident investigators said his seat belt would have killed him. yup thats where our country is headed. sorry bout the rant but i needed to vent

This is probably due to most drivers doing most driving in places close to their home.

Wait a minute- you said that you hate that the government forces people to wear their seatbelt- but you also admitted that less people get hurt when they enforce it... And yet you're still crying that you're suffering because they force you to wear it even though less people get hurt?

I try to put it on before I leave my driveway but it doesn't usually go on until like I get up to speed because it is hard to put a seat belt on and shift. Thats usually only when I'm leaving my house for work or other things I am in a hurry for. If I'm not in a hurry naturally I put my seat belt on. I think I only red the first page but as someone else said I always make passengers wear there seat belt.

My brother started the habit of always wearing the seatbelt anywhere in the car with his 1974 Beetle. I never go anywhere without it on, and same for my passengers.
I believe children should be required to be buckled by law, and carseats required for babies. Nothing makes me madder than to see some idiot holding their baby on their lap in the front seat. However, adults should have the right to endanger themselves.
