to install a new headunit do you have to bypass the amp under the seat?
i have a 2000 S/R i think it has premium sound, there is a black box under the driver seat, but it doesnt have the original tape deck it has some sony
now. did the person who had it before me already bypass the amp.. just wondering what all i need to do to put in a new cd deck and speakers..
and also my rears dont work i think the wires were cut somewhere cause they are fine at the speaker connections.. any help will be great. thanks

The rears don't work because the amp was not bypassed.

how does the rear speakers work originally then, are you saying that when the sony deck was put in that, that person didnt bypass the amp so thats why the rears dont work?

It's SO much easier to bypass the amp. You just have to do 4 jumpers, about an inch or two long each.
