missing

I have a 02 zx2 manual trans. It doesn't do it all the time but every once in awhile it will just start missing for no reason. I've tried replacing the plugs wires an coil but still does it.

how many miles on it? You may have a bad ground on the coil or a problem with the computer, or a dirty injector, do yo uknow what cylinder it is missing on?

Just try disconnecting the negative battery cable from the battery, leave the car for 10 minutes, reconnect it. Go for a 20km drive. If it still misses after that, i'm out of ideas :)

And did you use dielectric grease on your wires? You need to do that.

It has 93k on it but it has done it since almost new. The dealer couldn't figure it out either. I was starting to think maybe the knock sensor is out of range sometimes. I don't know what cylinder it is. It only happens when i'm driving.

Does the SES light flash when it misses? Can you create the problem on purpose?

It could be the crank position sensor or wiring. It could be a bad CCRM ground at the negitive battery cable.

No I can't create the problem. The only light that has come on is the check engine light an it was for the coil an I replaced it. I replaced the plugs over the weekend an saw oil around the plugs so I resealed the valve cover an I still need to check if it still leaks.
