My friends and I will be joining the German team by the way. We usually setup camp Friday night wake up Saturday get registered and setup, play till lunch grill out, play some more, grill out again, maybe do the night game, sleep, wake up and play for half the day Sunday, than stay for door prizes and awards. Last year was a little different because of the rain, but still fun.
The Allied and German teams have two completely different personalities. The Allies are more serious and more concerned about winning. They have a bad reputation of cheating even though they normally greatly outnumber the Germans. The German team on the other hand is more laid back. We do care about winning but we are more concerned about having a fun time. The German team also gets a little crazy, last year when my squad came back from lunch we had a Spartan, Braveheart, and another guy went shirtless with a German flag as a cape (it was raining the whole weekend mind you). The German team is always the underdog, always outnumbered, and yet we usually play a fair and surprisingly competitive game. Both teams have newbies, and usually in an equal amount but last year the Allies had some really young (and annoying cheating little bastards) ones, and we had some older people (which was nice because they were mature, and knew how to work as a team).
If I missed anything, or you have a specific question for me let me know. Last year this cost me ~ $105 including gas with 2 trips to and from (we left Saturday and came back Sunday).

No you have to use their paint, I'm assuming for liability. They usually have good paint, last year wasn't bad but again the rain really screwed things up.
