I was out at the local spot just talking after getting back from the drag strip when a friend of a friend mentions i should race a stock DA. I rarely race but I was bored so I start walking to my car and I stop because I hear them laughing. I turn around and walk back and ask what was funny and they pop the hood and say, well there IS a b20 in here. I claimed i would still race and they laughed like I was a waste of time.

So we head out and the guy wouldnt go from anything but a 25 roll. This isnt exactly the best spot for our cars barely having any rpms left but I did it anyway. After the split second of 1st left i hit 2nd and start to pull pretty good, probably about a car and a half. We then hit 3rd and I pull another 1/2 car or so and it stayed there until about 90 or so and shut down.

If it was a H22 swapped car then they could have laughed.

An H22 isn't all that great in a teggy or civic. They weigh too damn much. I'd only keep them in a Prelude or put one in an Accord.

A B20 is a decent engine, but its not all that fast. You have to build it, and even then i've been told they aren't good for top end.

Now if he had a B16 or a B18...depending on what B18....then they could had something to laugh about.

But when it comes down to it...if the drive sucks, then so will his car. ;)

I'd say good kill....but I love Hondas too much. :)

Hmm, so you're saying an H22 in a lighter car isn't that great, but it's better in a heavier car? Uhh huh.

Not always. I've seen some quick B-series cars, and I've also seen some slow B-series cars.

No...i'm not saying that it wouldn't be better in a lighter car. Its just that in a civic/teggy....there is alot of weight in the front end. If you take the time to do the swap right it would be one sick fucking ride, but most people just drop a h22 in and call it a day, then later on they have all sorts of problems.

There are tons of slow b-series cars out there. If they are done right, they are fast.

Now that they have the h2b conversion kits for the h22 in an integra/civic you see alot more h22 swaps.. the reason why alot of civics/integras are slow with the h22 swap is because of the fucked up gear ratios in the transmission..
