I looked it up, they were rated at 222 horsepower.

Anyway, I spotted a couple faces I recognized at the local ricer spot so I stopped to talk. After about a half hour someone pulls up in a Stealth ES talking about how he'll race anyone there for pinks. I thought the guy was just screwing around (I think he was half serious) but I say nothing. The two guys I was talking to point to my car and say, "Race this one.'' The guy in the Dodge says, "You want me to race that?" They say yes. He starts talking about how he has 350 HP stock. So now I know he has to be screwing around. The two guys I'm with ask, "You aren't scared of an Escort, are you?" He ask what is done and one guy says, "The engine is stock, the car even has 180,000 miles on it. Besides, it is an Escort." The Dodge guy takes off and a Jeep pulls up. It seems the guy in the Jeep knows the guy in the Stealth and they tell him to call the guy so he'll come back. The Stealth comes back and agrees to race. So, the Jeep, an Eclipse GSX, a Dodge Stealth, and a Ford Escort all pile out of the lot to go to the empty country road nearby. We have a spotter at the starting and finish line. I take the center lane (which is full of sand and small gravel, good thing I have the Phantom Grip) and I give 3 honks. We both launch at the same time. Through 1st we are door-to-door, once I get the little green bastard in 2nd it is all over for him. After some mid-rpm wheelspin I hook up and just run away from this Stealth. The guys spotting at the finish said they knew it was over when they seen the nose of my car point at the sky. LOL They could even hear the turbo spool when I got into 2nd and from the road to the track is almost a 1/4 mile. I cross the tracks an easy 4-5 cars ahead of the Stealth and I'm going 100 mph.

We go back to the parking lot and he jumps out of the car and says, "Bullshit, I gotta see under the hood!" So I show him and he shakes my hand and says, "I never seen it coming. That was sweet." About now some more people show up including one guy with a Focus wagon. He hears the story and tells them they can't shit talk the Zetec anymore. Apparently they were all giving him a hard time about the Zetec engine. lol In all, it was fun, the guy was cool and said the kicker wasn't that he got beat by an Escort, but an Escort with handicap plates on it.

So do you own some pos stealth now? Wasn't that the ricer's deal?

^ lol Good kill though. I think stealth's are heavy anyways. Do you know what year it was? The 1991 Dodge Stealth ES runs a 7.1 0-60 and a 15.6 1/4 mile time. Got that from here.

No, I don't want that shit. It is probably his dad's car anyway.

I'm not sure what year it was.

Not that u needed the turbo to beat it. A Stealth RT (222hp 5 spd) was one of my first kills with my Z. Theyre like 3400 lbs and very long gears.

I could just take my wifes' ZX2 out there. It is stock enough to pass as stock. I pulled my car onto the scales yesterday, with me and a half tank, 2760 pounds.

Weeyums, it was my impression that the R/T was the 300 HP turbo version of the same V6.

they actually only have about 119 kW
119 kilowatts = 159.581629 hp
they have a r/t version that is twin turboed pushing 239 kW
239 kilowatts = 320.504279 hp
not quite 220 hp, but almost there lol

Theres the normal RT, and the RT Turbo. The normal RT is the same 222hp dohc 3.0 IIRC.

For the first few year the R/T was the twin turbo one and the Es was the 220hp one. Then they came out with the base to make it cheaper then the mitsubishi 3000gt which had 160hp and then the ES became the R/T and the tt model became the R/T turbo.

eighter way nice kill....In all honestly, I like the Stealth RT/turbo better than the 3000 gt version.....Dont think they had an awd version of it.

All Stealth R/T Twin Turbos were AWD. They were a genetic clone to the 3000GT VR4, minus appearance.
