I remember seeing these when gas went to $1.70. I hate our dependency.

small cars and carpooling FTMFW
SUV's FTL. my mom's new Aspen gets 11mpg on average.
maybe i should post up a paper my wife just did on why gas prices going up is a good thing....i did a lot of the research for her, since i planted the bug in her ear about using that as her topic.

not to sound like a hippy...but we won't try to find alternative fuels that are both good for the environment, and good for our economy (relying on a foreign commodity is killing us)...unless gasoline becomes more expensive than the alternative fuels. then once the alternative fuels become more applicable, competition will drive the prices down.

Are you saying that you'd rather live under communism where the gov't sets prices for everything independent of market prices and production is determined by a central planning committee ???
...be careful what you wish for.

just be glad the gov't taxes so much on gasoline...that means you actually get rewarded for driving sensible small cars instead of huge SUV's...and carpooling will have you spending less on that gas tax too. would you rather they increase your income tax...or tax the gas...effectively rewarding efficiency?

The cartoon has cheaper prices haha. Diesel hit $4 last week and is climbing. I think Premium is $3.78. Bad times. Glad the Z gets good gas mileage!

It's about $1.28/L here where I am Canada...so that's about $4.80 a gallon.
We're the #1 supplier to the US for gas and oil...how are we getting screwed so bad? Taxes I guess.

Esso and Ultramar both have it here on thursday 3 cents cheaper, I think crappy tire does too. It makes it not hurt so bad a little, but the best we can get is still 91oct.

i worked for TODCO (the offshore drilling co) for bout our company pulled milloins and millions of gallons of crude oil a month out of the Gulf o' Mexico and the goes strait to our ( U.S. oil reserves during war time and overflow is released into the econemy) but there is rarley any overflow. so we import more from over sea's and Canada, and us american citezns pay the price! (btw this is from a friend who was working for BIG OIL from Nam till like two years he said every time a "war" comes along this is what happens)
so i suggest getting one of these :thingnana:
