GF bought an 08 Focus

So my gf bought a brand new 08 focus mtx, yay! Its the 2dr SE model. Not as quick as the zx2 but it is featureiffic! Call home! Play metallica! Sync is really cool :biggrin:. So I imagine someone here knows something about these cars.
Already going to get a K&N filter. What else can be done to these things for extra horsies? Do they have knock sensors or anything?

Oh and, under the hood of these cars is kind of gross though. I do not like the design at all... and it seems you would have to relocate fuel lines just to install a strut bar. Check it out.

with the strut towers so close to the firewall...i'd say you don't need a strut tower bar.

Poorly I have barely started. I had a mechanic friend of mine print out the steps and I am like :confused:. If you are ever bored and feel like helping let me know!
I was going to give up and either call you or the mechanic I know.

That might be cool. Ive been working on my talon in the meantime... Its alive!!! I Frankensteined an new intake and tb... really jsut need a new tps and it runs and does not die as often. Occasionally I get everything to work but in the end I still hate it. I just looked up the 08 focus and someone got a 16.5 on dragtimes... looks like my gf can start smokin some hondas after she gets better with driving mtx. Hard to win a race if you kill it in first :biggrin:.

How is Alaska man? I was also meaning to ask you how all your autox stuff went as well. Was hopping to be there myself but sadly I was without a reliable car.

i don't go to alaska until may 9th..i'll ony be there for a week. in the meantime, i'm working all i can to afford the trip. the autoX went great...i was .013 seconds behind 1st place...i got a trophy :beer:

heh I don't know why i thought you were there now.
Wish I coulda seen ya getting 2nd! That is really close 2nd as well. Empty out your glove box and you woulda had first! What other cars were you up against?

i lost to a Subaru 2.5RS. the other cars ranged from two other zx2's, a civic or two, a 240sx, xA, tC, eclipse...a few others. i'll have the results re-posted in the motorsports section soon.
