new mod pissed off turbod cobolt

so i just got done about 8:30 pm doing the govern mod (ie so the govern doesnt stop the car at one speed) but anyways my friend left me the car and asked me to do it then go drive it to see how it works so i did just that i had to go into town for ice.

so on the way into town there is a straight stretch roughly i would say almost 3/4 mile long and there is a single stop light in the center of this pass for the plant, so i was coming to the out skirts of town 35 to a 55 so i went from third to second to give a jump so see if it would act up but nothing but seem to be better(dunno why) but there was a white turbod ss cobolt pulled out behind me blowing the horn muffling all the good stupid rice shit lol,

so we come around the first been to the strecth doing roughly 60 in a 55 and theres a van so i was like lets see what this thing has so when the last car passed i swong out from behind the van at sixty in fourth shifted down to third while swinging out and hit the power band and shifted 4th power band 5th the cobolt deceid to tag along so we are both passed the van and now roughly 90 95 mph so i didnt think he would follow is why i went 5th gear well he deceid he would pass me so i dropped a gear for a split time to get power band back and we where nose to nose 105 came up and i was like i hope i have the switch the right way.

well i did and needless to say it kept going and going well i started to pull ahead and keep getting more then i notice his car is jerking because he still has the govern so i slowed back down and let him go, turned around and got ice when back towards home and here he comes again and i was like not worth my time so i just let him do all his stupid ricer shit again


the whole funny thing about this is i can drive a stick just enough to get from a to b not race or anything so i was really surprised i did so well because usally i jerk and all that good newbe stick shit but it was ok i guess i dont like "street racing" its to deadly but when u have a asshole who think hes got it all u have to atleast try :)

There is a reason the zx2 has a governor. Most people don't have the suspension, or tires, or skill to take the car to that speed. I just sold my cwq3. No governor, however I'm sure he wanted it for the performance gains. Not just that.

umm....it deff wasn't a turbo'd cobalt. For one they don't have a speed limiter. Two they have a direct injected 260hp engine. Three you can't get the SS/TC or SS/SC in white. Even if it was an older SS supercharged version like mine they still don't have a speed limiter, and it would take a good amount of nitrous or a turbo to keep beat one. Three you can't get the SS/TC or SS/SC in white. It was either a 170hp 2.4 ss/sport, or a 2.2 balt with the SS exterior effects on it. The 2.4 would still give a stock/lightly modded zx2 a run for its money. So it was probably a 2.2 with the SS effects, and even so you had to be going a 125 for him to of hit his speed limiter. 125 on a public road especially in town which it sounds like you would of been is COMPLETELY STUPID! Your lucky you didn't kill someone or yourself if you really did this.

I'm sorry I don't like to say bad things about peoples stories, but yours sucks.

I never argued the legality of anything. Its not the legality that I care bout its the well being of people that might of been around. My whole post was about explaining that it wasn't an SS cobalt, and how going over 100mph anywhere close to people Is extremely dangerous. That he could of killed someone, and or himself. If your going over 100 and someone pulls out in front of you, or walks out into the street. What the hell are you going to do? Either hit them or swerve loose control and wreck into something else. Have you read his post well? It says he was on the outskirts of town, and bought ice. A back road is not on the outskirts of town, and neither are stores. There is a big difference between going 55-60 in a 45 or 40 in a 30(depending on whether it is out in the country or in town) and going over a 100. You have no time to react to anything at that speed. Also the argument other people made about being able to control the car at 100mph....Yes going 100 in a straight line is easy as coloring inside the lines. What happens if there is a large bump or hole in the road you don't know about? You hit a large bump going that speed and your air born. Try to swerve to miss a hole very easy to loose control on the floppy soft zx2 suspension. If you hit it you would probably blow out a tire. Hit that same bump or hole going a reasonable speed legal or not and nothing bad would happen. Thats just a few scenarios of what could happen going that fast.
