It is the FARTHEST thing from clean, in fact, looking at everything in my garage my dad went "What the hell?" even... but, i've wanted one since I was a child. Well. Now I have one. My very own 1977 Porsche 924. Single car owner, sat for a long time, needs tlc and car but, with help, will be back to her running beauty.
Going to take a lot of work to turn it into what I want it to be, however, could not beat the price. Some parts of this car are great. Others not so much. Overall given with what I have to work with I am very very happy and excited to get on this project.
Just some pics from today.
Realllllllly dirty trunk.

Cool man. It's always nice to have a project to work on. Do you have a time frame for this? My '56 norton project has about a 30 year time frame for when I want it completed by. It's a little more basket case than this though.

Not sure on the completion date. My first goal is simply to just get it running and going down the block.
The brakes currently are sticking. It sat for 10 years or something insane like that. But most things are actually functional.
List of things I'm going to estimate:
- Fuel pump
- Fuel lines
- Fuel distributor
- Fuel injectors (maybe)
I opened up the oil cap, the valve train looks flawless. Going to pull the valve cover off and look inside, as well as the spark plugs to ensure no rust in the combustion chamber, etc...
For the most part, the tranny goes into gear, the clutch works, the brakes work but they stick. More than likely the fluid is old, the lines are crap, etc...
The stuff that is rusted that doesn't need replaced can be glass beaded/powdercoated, etc....
As to things I WANT to do?
- Suspension
- Nice paint
- Custom interior
- No unnecessary weight
I'll be stripping out the radio, ac, parts of the trunk, the rear seats (no one in their right mind would sit there anyway.) and a few other things. Lots of room for improvement on these little cars. Not fast, but they sure handle nicely.

Total cost to get the car and get it here was only $1k actually. Uber cheap.
The car sat for around 10 years, so really, imagine you started your car then sat it out in your garage for 2 years, then in a body shop for 3, then the rest outside with a cover. As you can imagine, the fluids have turned to goo, the fuel system needs work, if not re-worked, and hoses and what have you need replaced.
Other than that? It should be up and running in a fairly simple fashion.
My main concern is the fuel system, hoses and what not. And rust inside the motor, which so far doesn't seem present. But I won't know till I pull some of it apart.
The BIG cost, is going to be essentially repainting it and restoring the interior. The easy part will be getting her running. Hell, if it REALLY pisses me off I'll just go buy a new fucking motor.

Hows the body? any rust, big dents or just small ones from like rocks? cuz the body dont look bad from those pixs. so you'll prob need weather strips for the windows and everything from them dry rotting, maybe acouple new emblems unless u shave them. then the whole painting part. it would look good in a nicer more shiny black.

The body is actually fine. It has 2 dents, both of which should be easy to fix. No rust on the frame or anything that I can see.
There's going to be a lot of glass beading and powder coating though LOL.
Very nice Derreck. Remove those fog lights...lol.
Engine bay shot?

I can't decide if the shifter boot looks more like a beehive or an anthill.
:D
Cool project though. It's going to be a LOT of fun when its done. Hope you can find parts at reasonable prices. If not...Chevy 350. :)

Blasphemy! No big motors in this car, the weight distribution is too beautiful to mess with :)
