I lost, by one car. Well, almost one car, if I had went into his lane I would have hit him.
From a 35mph roll to 100mph. He was impressed. It was a local that hangs out at the ricer spot. I've been wanting to try my hand at one, I finally got the chance. I really need to get this thing tuned. The SRT-4 is stock. Well, he removed the air filter cover so he can hear his turbo. Yeah, you can definitly hear it too. It was funny that on the 3rd honk we both floor it and it looks like we aren't moving (lag) and he spools up a split second before I do. I might have been dead even with him if I had slipped the clutch a bit. Didn't think about it at the time.
Oh, another local (cool guy too) has a GSX. He wanted to try it out after the SRT-4 turned off. Poor GSX. It is an auto. I gave 3 honks and I actually waited to floor it until I heard his turbo spool. I top out 2nd (started at 30 mph) 2.5 cars ahead. I shift to 3rd and let off and wait for him to catch up (he never lets off) and when he gets next to me I floor it again. He is half a car ahead when I spool up and by the top of 3rd I've got 3 cars on him again. It was still fun though. He called me later and asked if I let off. I told him yes, I let off twice. He called me an asshole and laughed. He thought his car got faster somehow. lol

Get a better tune, throw in a phantom grip , you should beat them next time.. Either way its funny to see them be like WTF happened, the escort is still there...

I have a PG. I didn't lose traction (little bit of squeak) so that PG helped. It was the extra lag and crappy tune that hurt me. Still, that worked out quite well for a base tune. Pushing 180,000 and still hasn't blown up.

Nice. Get it tuned, tuning makes a huge difference.
Friends of mine with Talon AWD's recently went to the track, first run un-tuned was a low 13, and with tuning ran a 12.4. Tuning FTW! The same tuning friend of mine recently finished building his new GSX...2.3L (crank change) and big ass turbo running 30psi...should be interesting :)

i played with an SRT-4 last month...from about 50-110. we were about even through 3rd...then when i hit 4th he shot off. he pulled over when i went to fill up, and told me he was impressed an escort did that well..and that he was detuned to 10psi for gas mileage.
Good job. Those srt-4's are actually pretty decent on the highway. There is a local around here that is pushing 450 + at the wheels. I guess its pretty much useless since my buddy drove it and said from anything 0-60 you just spin and start to get traction up top...but it pulls pretty good after that.

I've been considering getting the PRP since I already have an Xcal. But, funds aren't really available at this time. Anyone want to donate to the 'Make the Little Green Monster Fast' fund? lol

Use your brake next time...
Hold the brake some to maintain speed and use the gas at the same time to produce a load and spool the turbo... let off brake on 3rd honk and you are already spooled and going.
I'm so tempted to turbo a ZX2 but IDK.

I can get it to spool up instantly with a bit of clutch slip from a roll. I just didn't think to do it at the time.

If it is that easy then just send me the money for it. The only local place that will touch the car wants $600, you want to pay for it? Aside from that, I'm on a fixed income now. Not quite the money maker I was a few years ago when I first started really modding this car.

Brian still said he would tune my car for $350. If I remember correct, you have an LXQ1 like me. I don't want to see you and vice versa, but if we could save some money (he said if I found someone else with LXQ1 it would be cheaper since he won't have to buy 2 codes) then I'm sure we can work something out. Mine should be done in November if you want to start saving.
Good race, I can't wait to get at the red fuck srt-4 that ALWAYS has to shift 3 times as he passes my house.

There are places in chicago that would do it for half the amount. I'm getting mine tuned for $150 on wednesday, turbocharged they probably charge double. I'm going to streetstuff.com in Addison, IL.

I'm not comfortable driving that far away for a dyno. If my car pops on the dyno the bill to tow it back home will be way more then just getting it tuned here in the first place.
Brad, maybe you don't get it, but I wouldn't fuck with you at every opportunity if you would just call my wife and apologize to her for what you said.
